>>digging around in the a-eon site, I found two as yet unreleased images. A case? Note writing on ?side panel Just an X?
thanks for digging...
If you look at the top of the first image you can see vents.... air vents.
It looks like the side panel of a tower case, the front has an engraved boing ball.
but the image could also be upside down...

For a tower case, I miss the transition from front-panel to side-panel. But I can be wrong. It would be most ambitious if, after a 25 odd years, they finally get a truly integrated case design, not just a metal box with a plastic snap-on front to finish it . _________________ Back home... |

Could very well be that...

It's difficult to see but I think there is a grey line in the middle, that might be the transition, but remember this could be an upside picture... _________________ www.loriano.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk |

| We can't see the full boing ball and maybe it's due to the emboss effect but to me it lacks one row in this one compared to the OS4.1's one.
Is it a mock up? Last edited by davebraco on 03-Jan-2010 at 10:27 AM.

Yes, that embossing looks... wrong to me. I think it could be a render, but the image is so limited (in terms of what's shown and the range of colors) that I could be wrong. The shape also feels off somehow, if it were a PC tower the matt side with the vents should be deeper than the shiny part with the boing ball. Either it's a very oddly shaped tower or (more likely) it's a laptop/netbook on its side, stood up like an open book. If it's an open laptop, the screen would be on the shiny side facing away from the camera, and the keyboard is on the matt side (also facing away).
ie like this:
| Vertical line here is the hinge ------VVV | |
This is the base, keyboard is on the other side here and little rubber feet would be above and below what's visible | | This is the lid, screen is on the other side here |

| Naaah, if you remember X=10 in Roman numerals, then it's clearly a 10GHz 10-core PPC system that out-performs x86 & is artificially intelligent. It also has the mythical AAA chipset built-in, and has a marketing budget that Window 7 can only dream of. (runs out of the room in a hurry)
edit: I forgot to mention that the version of AmigaOS it runs is better than OS X. Why else would they mention X so much? Last edited by ChrisH on 03-Jan-2010 at 11:01 AM.

| I wonder what this laptop (if it is one...) would cost. Any takers ?
Must be in the high hundreds of Euros
Come to think of it, the AoneG4 board cost me that aswel.... So maybe even more expensive ? Hmm, we might be pleasendly surprised.. Last edited by Metalheart on 03-Jan-2010 at 11:02 AM.

The one thing that's bugging me is that odd curved shadow near the top of the "hinge" - I can't completely account for it. I bet Rogue is laughing his head off right now because this is just some filler background art and we're all overanalyzing it

| What i just wonder about is, if that would be a laptop cover, that grey curve on the top edge of the screencover indicates that the boing ball is not centered if you look at it from the imagined front. Non symmetric. and there wouldn't be enough space to place another design element.
Maybe I am just starting "seeing" things, though... |

A mainboard it is then
Finally a mainboard without serial, parallel and PS2. I know, some will have massive arguments why those should have been on but to me: Leave them out! Last edited by Amiga_3k on 03-Jan-2010 at 11:13 AM.
