@ALL

In response to question "Does it run Linux?"

If someone makes this utter urgent question just anser him/her:

"Wanna Linux? CIYL!"

(Compile It Yourself Lamer!)

And usually people use Apple Machines as cool design ornament for their pretty shops hall entrances, or in order to garnish with cool hardware their black huge office manager desktop tables...

No, sorry sir. GeOS evolved into Contiki...

Gotta try and see at least if I mamange to run it, darn...

Too much lines of code.. ROTFL!

But good news is it that we found it capable to run Windows CE flawlessly...

@DAX

GEOS closely resembled early versions of Mac OS and included a graphical word processor (geoWrite) and paint program (geoPaint). For many years, Commodore bundled GEOS with its redesigned and cost reduced C64, the C64C. At its peak, GEOS was the third most popular operating system in the world in terms of units shipped, trailing only MS-DOS and Mac OS.

It would be a good laugh,if you had visitors that where interrested in the Amigaone X1000. And present them with that,just for the hell of it,lol

Are you serious? You think people will buy some 1200ish ¤ Box for running Linux, when you can run Linux on some run-o-the-mill x86 thingy for 200 quid with an around 10 times better experience?

I've seen industrial compact-PCI PowerPC boards selling for over $2,000, and you still have to pay another $2,000 for the Linux drivers, so that idea isn't as outlandish as you think. It depends very much on what they're using the board for.

Someone posted about this on an Ubuntu forum, and some of them are interested, or at least some of them think that the Xena chip and Xorro bus would be a cool to play with.

Is this anywhere near the norm? How many people you guess will do that with the X1000? Realistically...?

No idea. When I saw that you had to pay $2,000 for the Linux drivers, I thought that the guys were crazy, but companies buy them. Industrial users have different requirements, and they don't make their systems work around a particular motherboard just because it was cheap, or because it's specs. are higher.

@WOSPUPOS4
Nice boot picture but I'd rather see the boing ball as that is what Hyperion has a license for. I don't know who owns the checkmark?

Perhaps some sort of vectorized boing ball on a black background with an AmigaOne X-1000 logo

So, if X1000 would be my only system, Linux is a must.

Sure, but who-ever said it would or should be your only system??? You buy an "Amiga machine" to run AmigaOS. If it happens to run any other OSes that you like, then an unexpected bonus.
