Keep up the good work! "They" will believe, sooner or later ...

I did, from the very first beginnings. Can`t wait for the 2011 and the
first Commodore Amiga line!

The retro styles are ok, but are you going to make anything practical? Something that is expandable and not destroyed by a can of coke on the keyboard? I can understand the C64 copy as nostalgia and all that but from a practical stand point the all in one market seems to be owned by Apple...

@persia

Have you read all of what Leo said?

Because if you had, you'd have had read there'd be amiga desktops, possibly even before AIO Amigas (A500x) NEXT YEAR! And laptops, although he wasn't specific on that, but by his tone I figure it's very probable...

I think that could be classified as practical

I think "expandable" is overrated these days. Things are evolving slower now, people are holding on to their machines for longer, PC lifetimes are growing longer. I have no hard data, just a gut feeling, but I'd say besides hardcore gamers or graphics industry people, no one cares much about upgrading PC components. If needs be, you just buy a new machine entirely.

So you're saying that laptops and netbooks are a bad idea then?

@ruben

The computer in a keyboard offers all the disadvantages of a notebook/netbook plus two big ones, it doesn't have a screen and it lakes batteries, while offering no advantages. Notebooks are great, you can take them places and use them. You can sit on the veranda, in the library, coffeeshop, etc. The only thing going for a computer in a keyboard is the retro feel.

Personally I like all-in-ones to an extent, we've been putting 27 inch iMacs on staff and faculty desks and they are convenient. My wife has one too, but we aren't talking all-in-ones here, just keyboard computers...

I thought it was clear by now that there's of course not a global NEED for keyboard computers, the Commodre's business plan is to sell to retro people. If that plan is bad or not good enough for them to break even or earn money remains to be seen. If the price isn't too high I could consider one as a second stationary desktop (and no I don't eat and drink at that desk) and only because it looks like a C64 while it really isn't one. (aldready have one like it, and 2 VIC-20's) Not saying I WILL buy one.

Simply...
Why not?
In a world where useless, bloated, overpriced pcs sold by a guy that pointed x86 as a the very devil on earth...
The same guy pretending ppc was more powerful than x86 (and it never really happened) went to x86 when its house (ppc's one) was burning...
The same world and the same guy has created an empire based on marketing, emotions, feeling, lies and so on.
Why not for a all in one keyboard pc then?
Well, if you haven't some jobs for steve (in marketing perhaps), it could be really hard for commodore...

I'm also a laptop guy and would only get on of these for the nostalgia factor. Still, if I was going to buy a stationary computer, I'd much rather have a keyboard (computer) + screen setup, rather than a keyboard + screen + cumbersome-box-on-the-floor setup.

The only difference is that one of them puts the computer inside the monitor, the other puts the computer inside the keyboard. Both achieve a 2 part setup, which to me sounds better than a 3 part setup. So, even better is the 1 part setup, which brings us back to the laptop

They take batteries? That would be an odd thing since one needs to plug them into a screen anyway. Source?

Cool, though I'd prefer the later C64c model, case was slicker.

Yeah, I hear you. Maybe some time in the future.
That case is slimmer which poses a problem though in terms of motherboard selection.
The A500x will be slicker, so maybe that will take your fancy. It will be all black though.

Will A500x look like http://www.amiga.org/gallery/images/660/1_3891.jpg ?

A1200 in black http://www.freewebs.com/adonay-/amiga%20hardware/DSCF5473.JPG

Would A500x have it's AMIGA logo glow like the following DELL's XPS?

You're of course right but you and I know I did not refer to laptops when I wrote that.
In my post keyboard computers meant (c64s, vic-20's spectrum's, salora fellow etc)

That's actually not a bad idea... the amiga checkmark rainbow sign could be nice to see glowing in the dark. Or possibly the boing-ball, although it remains to be seen whether they could use the boing ball legally.

The 80's rang, it wants its boing ball back.

That thing is ugly. No more boing ball, geez...Trendy is what sells apples garbage at BS prices... The boing ball is not even remotely trendy. C=USA needs trendy.

Some people around here need to say hello to 2010 and goodbye to 1985. If you cant? your too damn old to have any say in marketing. Go back to the tech department where u belong...

I agree... I never liked the boing ball... Rainbow checkmark is better. They need something to advertise with, a brand badge to put on products. OK, AMIGA works fine, but it needs something visual for people to relate to as well.

that's correct ! therefore C=USA should drop the Amiga(out of date / 80s)name and invent a name for the XXI century (or even XXII...)
