Blizzard PPC sets new world record for dram bandwidth and reads as follows.

Read 32: 101Mb/sec
Read 64: 105Mb/sec

Write 32 & 64 58Mb/sec
Write 116Mb/sec ( tricky )

NEW for 2013

PCI BUS working for the first time & operates at half the speed of the PPC processor and also set a new world record for this card 41.5Mhz.

Bvision Sgram 120Mhz but can operate well beyond this frequency if needed.

RAGEMEM v0.37 - compiled 11/06/2010

CPU: AMCC PPC440EP 1.3 @ 799 Mhz
Caches Sizes: L1: 32 KB - L2: none - L3: none
Cache Line: 128

---> CPU ---
MAX MIPS: 1598

Hi Spectre, I can't obtain this marks in my SAM440 @ 800 MHz and 1GB RAM.
The first diference is Cache Line, you get 128 and my board only 32.
So all the others numbers are lower, example MIPS 1598 vs 1322.

Do you know why ?

I have all the UBoot updates installed and the sam440ep_setup patch in the starup.

@ribdevil

The newest sam440ep_setup causes ragemem to give some incorret results in the MIPS.

I get cache line 32 as well and Mips 1365

ragemem is not a valid benchmark ..these result don't rappresente how a program will work with the real apps.
you have to use real programs..but today is like to ask the moon

Ragemem is good only to see some syntetic benchmark and to can say: wow, how is fast my machine..
On the real apps instead you can say: oh no..what happens!?

As valid as any other. But you are right, I too don´t believe benchmarks I didn´t forge myself.

Edit: Superior memory performance of PA6T in comparison to G4 shows also MPlayer benchmark. Comparison to newer e600 based designs (8610/8640) would be interesting.

@pavlor

i been use ragemem under sysmon from gulliaume bosel, test and comparing the ng machine.

one of the best benchmark for me remain "quake in software rendering" for the cpu and the gl for the gpu 8)

My machine tests
Quake software 320x240
Imac 2xI7 (4x2 thread) 1560 fps
Amiga 4k 060 66mhz 11.7 fps
Amiga 4k 604e 366mhz 36.5 fps
Amiga 4k 604e 200mhz 27 fps
Sam460 1017mhz (320x480) 78.5 fps
Pegasos 2 G4 1ghz 145.3 fps

interesting, seems the 060 and g4 offer the best performance clock by clock in this comparison. well except for i7 ;)

@wawa

there is a guy who have an a1200 with a 060 at 100mhz overclocked and a Vodoo the timedemo of gl quake was better compared with a 604 233 with Radeon 9200 256mb

... If motorola dont stop the CISC 68xxx cpu production probably today the history will be different

opengl benchmark in 640x480 don't show you power of your VGA becuase at that resolution is CPU and bus to make difference.
To see in GLquake real power of GPU you have to bench at higher resoluton, so 1024x768 or 1280x1024.
At this resolution you can see how it works your vga and his memory bandwitch.

so at 1024x768 and more higher resolution you can see real difference within radeon 9200 and radeon 9250 both 128bit.

When its possible I do volunteer for PA6T side.

Real life use experience is even better, thanks to fast SATA, memory transfers and RadeonHD. This kind of G4 superiority on single core vs single core, sounds nice, but when compared with slower RAM, AGP bus and IDE drives, it reminds of me of old trick of PCs that had just good CPU name and rest of components downgrading system speed.

Surely, these were the standards at time of PPC Macs, real modern ones, but in this comparison, anything related to real life has to take this in account.

Can you direct me to OS4/LinuxPPC version and some needed WAD file, as well as how to run it.
Will submit results.

GlQuake you can find on Os4depot
the same is for Quake software rendering

About the files Pak there is a demo on ID website
