Mmm i'll drop a mail to Joerg, he surely have all that libs.
If you need just ask !

We all see already how hard to get help from him. I works right now on libicu port, and fab help me with it. Its not hard , but very time consuming and annoing. Have some "bins" which compiles, and then should be runs to generate some source files, so, cross-compiler not go here, trying to build it on os4 for now (slow).

Fab also say that pixman1 and fontconfig are easy to build.

And btw, Joerg not use fontconfig , he use our native font system, which is pretty good. Fab use fontconfig just because it easy to use => later if all will going well, we can swith to native font usage as well.

@kas1e

libavformat and stuff is all in the libffmpeg.lha archive.

Edit: OpenSSL/Curl (1.0.0c / 7.21.3) is available for those who want it early. Just PM.

There is an sqlite3 that comes with OS4 in SObjs: that I know works. I've personally used it. If you want a static version of 3.6.23.1, I packaged up some modified source a while ago and can compile that for you.

Now are you guys going to stop calling me a troll? Its quite amazing Fab is helping the OS4 effort (though he is a nice guy so not as surprising I guess). So now Fab did Morphos port, working on helping with os4 port and NEVER TOOK A CENT! (only donations)

@kas1e

Thanks for the updates and your work and effort. The community needs this.

@all
Some progress about mui-owb: still linking boredom. All the libs ready (include those pixman, fontconfig, etc), but one last problem for now with libICU. After that one will done, very few and understanable errors should be fixed, and then binary are ready.

But prepare to be disapointed : that its all for now only "minor thinks". Its only about compiling mui-owb with fully disabled mui4 / threads / writepixelarrayalpha , so that version for sure will not usable, and all the hard work, will start later. Now all of this can be called like a "start".

Excellent, so i think now is the turn for a real MUI developer, (converting or rewriting from Scratch all that MUI4 calls).

Maybe Denill can help on this ? how we can organize this job ?

@samo79

For first we need to see how all of this will looks like in current state. I.e. will it at least show something or not. Fab say, that he even tryes to run the very first versions of owb-mui on the mos1.4 on mui3.9, and its actually show the stuff, but tabs and such not works because of mui4 deps.

So, after we will reach even such state (because i think for first, it will just crashes and have other problems which will need to fix), then we will visually see what just not works, and starting by adding very necessary parts firstly, then after not very necessary.

We already have contact with Deniil , and we at #onyxsoft channel on irc-net. Deniil not have too much time as i see, but with help from fab and from him, i think we can manage all the stuff. Deniil already port some HOOKS, and help me with some problems as well, and as he say he know mui very well, so, i believe all will be ok.

For now just need to port libicu, and fix some errors , then i will post all the info and maybe actual screenshot (if it will runs) of cut-off version just for interest.

That's fine, sound a linear roadmap to me

Out for curiosity, do you know where is the difference between plain MUI 3.9 in MorphOS 1.4 and latest MUI 3.9 in AmigaOS 4.1 Update 1/2 ?

Dunno, but imho mui3.9 on any aos3/aos4/mos are the same 1:1 , even zune tryes to be same (but still have bugs).

These 2 days was full of "work for money", but with help from salas00 on UB, one more error are fixed. Hope tommorow to fight with libICU and make final binary

Joerg is too busy bashing MUI/MorphOS/AROS at http://os4welt.de/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=374

This thread is *really* insane. Have fun.

in one thing is he right though i suspect: opening the os4 owb source would not help much porting your version from morphos. os4 owb diffs are probably really containing only the simple reaction stuff that he has implemented.

besides i can somehow understand that he doesnt want to work on or open his version. he has been bothered by users of his software, (i was once one of them) and it got on his nerves. it is his holy right to do so.

i would leave him in peace and move on, if you ask me.

He does what he wants with his code. What is insane is his MUI bashing and disdain against MorphOS or AROS.

And what's laughable too is these people who consider MUI "alien" on OS4 but don't seem to have a problem with really non amiga-like toolkits like XUL or upcoming QT. Have they all lost their minds?

Wow, you still going on about this? What have you got against Joerg? How can you not see that he is actually free to do whatever he likes with his spare time, and doesn't owe you a thing? Really, I don't understand why you keep going on about this. Just be positive that Fab's port is going ahead - there's no need for the constant negative digs.

I can't read german so i don't know what they're talking about in that thread... btw, i consider MUI "alien" in the sense that everything >3.9 won't ever (or at least not in the foreseable future) happen on anything but MorphOS so yes, from a user's point of view it's alien because he can't have it
Let me stress the point that i'm talking just about the user's POV not about technical merits.
