Its no problems to found image for close tab. The problem is as i say, mui3 cant handle modern format of images, but uploading our own image, to mui3 button, will be not that easy. As i say before, for that reassons Slash create a class before (some hard work for sure). Dunno how easy for Deniil it will..
Quote:
If is it only a PNG question, at this point i think it would be 100% possible to ask
|
And even after that (if it will done, and if licence allow to do that), someone should write more inbuild themes, Hyperion should say "yeah ok" and include them, and Hyperion should say "yeah ok" for choicing some other default and good looking theme.
For me all that looks so long, and so boring in terms of waiting, that i think for OWB will be better just to annoy Deniil and maybe Slash if he will someday not busy , and just write code for uploading png-close image to the mui3 button.

You could just reuse the toolbutton class i already use for the other navigation objects, you know. |

| @Fab Right, indeed !
It will not solve look of our gadgets of course, but making good looking close button will be good already.
Btw, maybe it possible somehow from mui3 code, reupload os4-mui-gadget images, by png ones ? Last edited by kas1e on 23-Feb-2011 at 03:32 PM. Last edited by kas1e on 23-Feb-2011 at 03:31 PM.

It is very easy to use a PNG or whatever with MUI3. We just need an image. I can hack something together in PPaint when I get home and use that for close gadget image.

I already sent a couple of images for test (see link above) Problem is that actually kas1e don't know how to support these PNG, but it seems (for example) that Shinkuro already writed a proper implementation or included a proper support for them in NoWinED (don't know technically), maybe just looking into NoWinED source ... _________________ BACK FOR THE FUTURE

Cool so they are working !
Are 3 state working too ?
I mean:
button_ghost --> Tab not active button_normal --> Tab active button_selected --> When pressing the close gadget
Of course inside the archive there are 3 different PNG covering the all state Last edited by samo79 on 23-Feb-2011 at 04:08 PM.

Meh its ugly - its just a Windows XP close gadget re-sized... no MS no ty Needs some TLC.
Sharpen the edges, or make it a complete circle, anything but rounded-square like it is right there. Last edited by djrikki on 23-Feb-2011 at 07:16 PM. Last edited by djrikki on 23-Feb-2011 at 07:16 PM. Last edited by djrikki on 23-Feb-2011 at 07:15 PM.

Too much different request about design, so we will do all as we think good, and then anyone else can create new other themes and upload it somethere :) But anyone feel free to draw close gadget, and if it will better than current one, so we will use it.
@saimo79
Nope, not catch all the states. For now we just make it usable, and "pressable". Not "ultra-cosmetic-right", but its much better than the previous one.
For now we still have _real_ stuff to do, in compare with worring about did close button change color when pressed, or not :) Last edited by kas1e on 23-Feb-2011 at 07:44 PM.

| @samo79 I saw the screen you posted at Amiganews.it last summer, it was for iBrowse 2.6 if I recall correctly. Isn't it both "Mui" and looking better than OWB-Mui (at the moment)?

Of course, it was only for curiosity, aniway i think that OWB on MorphOS already have a "buttons-state" built-in

Maybe you mean NetSurf ... yes it was NetSurf 2.6 and it's not MUI based
NetSurf looks very nice and it is quite complete as interface, of course there are some little bugs but the real problems is only the incomplete core, but it's pretty usable for me

If they going to use rounded buttons I really hope they use something like chromes closebuttons, since that cr@p you showed looks like they belong in a candy store and is totaly butt ugly IMO.
@samo79
Just a small correction =) There is a MUI-version of NetSurf (which Itix did) aswell, which laid the ground for Fabs OWB if I'm not totaly wrong. (They resemble very much in the layout in the early versions of OWB though).

| @samo79 I mixed things up
The fact is, Reaction looks fantastic when it receives the "imagoDespira" treatment.
People might say "I like it", some say "I don't", and the final reply is always "since you can customize Workbench, get it this way, and then change it according to your personal taste".
WRONG.
Or rather, right, but the number of people forced to apply the change should be the minority, so a poll is in order IMHO.
Let Hyperion show a few designs (including ImagoDespira one, perfectly shown in your last screen-shot or HERE) and let people vote. The one that gets more votes become the official "default" theme, all the others go change it the way they prefer. (my money are on imago's if such a poll will ever be made...)
