on AmigaOne X1000 they could render the "test.blend".
it's very complex scene.
On Athlon 900 it takes about 11 minutes.

@Samo79
yes, but only thank to Acube optimization.
This 733 Mhz didn't use it.

Let´s hope some X1000 owner will try such test.

@Seiya

since that test takes on my Pegasos2 G4@1131 a time of 8.39.80 minutes I think the X1000 have to complete the test in about 5 minutes or so...

What could be a good integer test?
.lha compression of the acksaw.wav?
.lha compression of AOS4.1 CD?
.lha compression of AOS4.1 CD from HDD to RAM?
+ decompression

I use lha a lot, therefore it could be interesting.
+IIRC, lha is very inefficient with large amounts of data.

Mplayer benchmark show that our current software isn´t able to use its hardware efficiently: 1 GHz G4 is rougly as fast as 900 MHz Athlon (excluding AltiVec), yet it loses in this test even when using AltiVec.

Doesn't Athlon have faster memory? Pegasos II G4 is fast but its memory throughput is insufficient. That AltiVec is often just starving there and not notably faster than non-AltiVec builds (depending on application).

right..
compression in various format like zip, rar, ace, ecc are cpu intensive operations.

@Seiya

It's the same, even without the "fix" the results are different

Blender x86 that i used for these tests are 2.48, same version that there is on AmgaOS 4.

2.48 don't use SSE or 3DNow, so x86 and PPC is the same blender :)

@itix

The Athlon64 3500+ could be DDR or DDR2 depending on the version.

I see one on Amazon for $63.50. Tough finding a price to quote, no one carries it anymore.

@pavlor

Windows
i have 2 distros linux on usb pendrive.
at least i can try to test (if works) blender on these 2 distros (one is puppy)

Athlon64 use DDR memory (in this case, PC 3200)
yes, PC 3200 are faster than DDR2 becuase DDR2 have often higher timings
however, there are some DDR2 that are very fast and lower timings.

What type of DDR2 are sold with Limited Edition?

However, i don't think that slow performance of X1000 is by type of DDR2 RAM.

It would sure be easier to read if the colors didn't jump around.
