@Xenic

Yeah I much prefer OpenURL too tis why I use it in Jack for all the reasons you gave. Click a link a new tab opens in your preferred browser rather than opening a new instance. On the same topic I hope TW adopts OpenURL as opposed UrlOpen which doesn't have said Arexx support.

Lighten up, no I have not you did such a great job with it.

Like I said before, you have a dig at Hollywood and Jack and other hollywood apps - written by people devoting hours and weeks at a time on what are essentially hobby efforts don't be surprised if someone eventually turns around and has a dig at you.

Not once did I slag off OWB-MUI, I only stated it is missing this and that - just like everyone else is posting.

As far as I am concerned its all water under the bridge now, I took on your advice and made Jack better - rather than taking it as a personal attack - the fact it is written in Hollywood does matter as far as users are concerned as long as it is stable and performs the tasks it sets out to do.

I repeat, lighten up and continue you great work on whatever platform you wish.

@amigasociety
I would say no since kas1e left os4.x scene due to the way he was treated by certain os4.x developers.

One mans work in any directlion isn' t the end all be all, people burn there bridges for whatever rocks there boat in the end though you have to look in the mirror and take responsibility.

I don't actually use MUI-OWB personally or MPlayer-MUI for that matter for one thing I'd rather wait for native AmigaOS applications to evolve if necessary, I mean what's the hurry? and I have a feeling it's not going to be much longer before these particular ports with there underlying agenda are superceded even for there base of users.

The only people who seem to whine and want everything are that faction of end users that just want want want and actually don't deserve anything... if you understand my meaning...

Like I keep saying it doesn't matter if you create the wheel several times just make sure your wheel is better than the rest... It might be the light or the angle but I think AmigaOSs wheel is rounder than the rest LOL

So if i understand that right we should be perfectly happy with Ibrowse and AWeb which hasnt been developed for years??
No rush you say even though there is no native browsers that even support modern features..
I guess you dont use your amiga box for internet at all?

I've edited my post above.. See you've done it again by having another sly dig. Jack is great, it fulfils a need in so many areas, but I wouldn't say its the best thing since sliced-bread.

@all

Is it possible to read a thread without any flamish intention between the parts and more important without useless comparison between Jack (??) and MUI OWB ?

Thanks !

Would a joined html 5 player for Amiga and AROS project be interesting ?

Lets say we raise around 500$

I might have someone that would be interested in doing it.

...this (and JS' port of OWB) is why I *assumed* it might be easier than other parts of WebKit. Seems I was wrong with my assumption
Maybe I should take a closer look at the cache files generated. It is *maybe* possible to use the OS4 font cache that is already present at FONTS:fontconfig/font_cache.

Well for what its worth, I think Fabs MuiOWB is fantastic and the port by kas1e is brilliant.

So now on OS4 you have two modern browsers giving a different but modern experience.

Still if I was one of these developers I may be getting the hump right about now.

@kas1e

I appreciate your work (and of course FAB's) and the others involved. MUI-OWB is very important for all Amiga platforms as it is currently the best browser for MorphOS and AmigaOS 4.1.

I hope that you will continue your work.

Just curious if OWB-MUI for Amiga OS 4.1 is still being updated and maybe some new features to come one day,

But of course, if you want to keep motivation up, you are welcome to make a donation to me even without bounty here .

I just sent a donation as I appreciate being able to use this browser today in hopes newer version will come down the road.

When you get a more official bounty, I will also donate there also.

Thank you for the fine work.

Agree completely. If they somehow were able to add things like built in html5 playback then it would be near perfect.
It also seems pretty responsive and smooth even on my 440ep which is not the case reaction version or timberwolf.

And good to hear that development might continue.

In the end of all, if html5 based part still can't be opened by fab, i at least hope he will explain how to write new one and integrate it, so i (with help of other of course) can try to make my own.

@kas1e

I think you have to make some sort of "official" roadmap for the new version...
Also a joined OS4.x/AROS bounty to get same version on both systems will be nice I think :)

Sure, once i will finish with my book-related (one kind of example-chapter are done, now fixing of grammars is going on by one of skilled persons), and will make all that announcements/newses about it, then will worry about all of this.

I know that someone already works on muiowb port to aros, but i do not know in what kind of form is it currently, and how different it will be beetwen os4/aros. But for sure some joined bounty for html5 player for aros/os4 as nikodis say can be possible.

@BillE
I read your commnent to donation now: laugh a lot :)

@Martin Johansson
Thanks for donation as well !
