He does, but the script for the movie sucked.
I hope he comes back next year for the 50th celebration special.
His Big Finish adventures are worth listening to. _________________ AmigaOne X1000, A4000(T), A3000, A2000, A1200(T), A1200, A500, CD32, Minimig+ARM, FPGA Arcade, Chameleon64, C-One, C128, C128D, C64C, C64, VIC-20, CBM 8032, CBM4032, Efika, Ultimate64 |

Nah... none of the modern day doctors can hold a candle to any of the originals...
Jon Pertwee & Tom Baker were the best and so were the original series...
Only thing I would say was worse than the modern day Dr Who's were the movies starring Peter Cushing & Roy Castle, they were a crime against humanity not just the Daleks... _________________

I have fond memories of the movies. As a kid I actually thought Peter Cushing was the original Doctor Who. It was only when I got into the Target books and discovered the real stories prior to Jon Pertwee that I learned about Pat Troughton and William Hartnell.
I can actually remember watching the Three Doctors as a kid and thinking "who's that strange scruffy man and that old chap on the monitor?" _________________ AmigaOne X1000, A4000(T), A3000, A2000, A1200(T), A1200, A500, CD32, Minimig+ARM, FPGA Arcade, Chameleon64, C-One, C128, C128D, C64C, C64, VIC-20, CBM 8032, CBM4032, Efika, Ultimate64 |

| I used to have a great Dr Who screen saver for the PC. It was a cartoon where the TARDIS would appear, a random animated Doctor would stick his head out and a see a Dalek/Sontaran/Cyberman approaching. He would then go back inside and the TARDIS would take off and fly through the vortex before repeating the same routine. Occasionally K9 would emerge instead and blast the Dalek with his laser. _________________ AmigaOne X1000, A4000(T), A3000, A2000, A1200(T), A1200, A500, CD32, Minimig+ARM, FPGA Arcade, Chameleon64, C-One, C128, C128D, C64C, C64, VIC-20, CBM 8032, CBM4032, Efika, Ultimate64 |

| All this talk about Dr Who got me playing through most of my old DVD's the past couple of days and the theme tunes been going round and round in my head...
So I decided to redo the best ever Dr Who theme tune form the 7th Doctor era and here is the result (The videos naff but the tune aint too bad)...
Best played loud and through a decent hi/fi & speakers to hear the all the differences from the original track...

Best alternative version I've heard of the Dr Who theme tune is by Orbital, very cool Remix.
Good effort with the YouTube vid.

I see you used the Jon Pertwee photo where he's about to grab Liz Shaw's knockers.
Out of interest, apart from Dalek Attack which I remember on the Amiga and C64, what other Dr Who games were released for the old Commodore computers?Last edited by Darrin on 08-Apr-2012 at 03:22 PM.

I was playing with Hollywood today and I had an inspiration: why not mod some of the Andreas Pac-Man (well, Holly-Man) demo? So here it is ... I thought about using a Dr. Who sprite as Pac-Man, a few Daleks sprites as ghosts and the Orbital remix as BGM music.
The first mod is pretty crappy, but maybe with time.....

Well, it's not that bad but both my wife and my son get pretty bored soon with the result that they don't leave me alone a single minute!
@Franko Never played with Hollywood? If I can finish the demo I'll send you the link. Just ... don't shoot the piano player ....Last edited by g0blin on 08-Apr-2012 at 07:04 PM.

No problem. This thing got us all hyped up!
I even started to mod "Holly-man" (Andreas clone of Pac-Man made with Hollywood). I used Daleks instead of ghosts and Dr Who instead of Pac-Man
Trouble is, I can't really find decent sprites on the net. Daleks are ok, but the Doctor .... I actually found some sprites but with no animation frames and it will take to long to me to develop new ones.
Anyway, when the (shitty) prototype is finished I'll send you guys the download link.

Crap!, i'll check again and again here.
as i said, i am 100% sure someone gave it to me over IRC many many moons ago, you know... when my brain was infested with Dwarf spaceships and WHo everywhere. :D
btw.. old cds is really bad, many of them i simply can't read anymore, no scratches etc but the write area is peeling off :(_________________ See my blog and collection website! . https://www.blog.amigaguru.com |
