I'm looking forward to my very first AmiWest.

I hope to meet as many people as possible, and put faces to some of the names (or nicknames) of friends from the various Amiga channels.

Just a few more days...

@sundown

I had a great time last year spending the Saturday night at the hotel and doing the banquet but this year figured I would do two nights and get that first experience of a Friday night.

Hope to start some new great memories.

I am about to leave the IT industry after supporting it business wise since 1988 and since I will not have to use Macs for a living anymore, I can use what I want.

It will be Amiga for me and I hope to have a great experience using it daily for most my needs.

I am sure I will have to use the Mac still but it is getting close where I can see me using my Amiga X1000 for much what I need.

My new line of work will be over the net and using basic web browser functions to perform customer service duties and I think I can do what I need via my X1000 so it is about to get a serious workout for 2013!

So yes, I would not miss this Amiwest and take in as much as I can so adding beer to the equation, win win win win! heheheh

I'm spending Friday night in Stockton (one hour south of Sacramento) and will arrive at Amiwest early Saturday morning.

Does anyone know yet what the daily seminars will be for Saturday and Sunday or are there non scheduled for this years event?

My guess most folks know Amiga OS but would be cool for a general overview of what Amiga OS is all about, benefits, and then show folks around the different folders that make of the OS on the hard drive so those more new to Amiga get a better understand of what the importance of each folder is and how generally things operate when one wants to "tweek" things.

Anyway, no matter what is covered, should be fun.

@sundown

I will be there from Wednesday afternoon until Sunday night, or maybe even Monday morning. I am already in Mountain View, so my drive to Sacramento will be short, compared to my usual drive from Southern Calif. to Sacramento on the Friday when the show begins.

See you all there!

See you after the programming...

The AmigaOS Programming Seminar is the first of its kind event for Amiga enthusiasts. The goal is to enable Amiga users to become Amiga Developers, simple. To reach that goal the plan is to have a two day event with AmigaOS programming experts presenting a wide range of topic to empower the creation of amazing software.

As far as I know from the IRC discussions, there are no plans to stream the seminars, but there was talk about recording them for release later.

6 hours and counting until I head down the hill to the show. Can't wait! My little weekend away from working 2 jobs even though I am still on call for my clients if an emergency arises, which I hope does not so I can enjoy the whole show in peace. Like a little vacation for me since I am on call 24/7 since 1998 .
