Nice read indeed!

+ stuff like:
"...1994. The same year myself and a couple friends began developing the DirectX media architecture at Microsoft… At the time that I joined Microsoft Windows supported 8bit color displays and had no hardware support for accelerated sound or video. "

" I secretly seethed at the idea that Microsoft was going to ship a new state of the art multi-tasking OS in 1995 that was inferior to a 1987 Commodore Amiga. My two nerd friends and I from Microsoft’s Windows 95 evangelism team conspired to introduce Amiga like media capabilities to the PC platfor"

Nice read indeed!

I knew Amigans did Direct Audio for Microsoft, but I was not aware they were there doing also the Direct3D. ((Hombre? is that you?))

"Apple’s market share collapsed through 1997 as PC’s enabled with Amiga like audio and graphics accelerators swept the consumer market. "

Damn you Amigans?
Oh... X5000 production is already at full speed, nice.

Nice reading!

Just one thing: the T-Zero picture (which is an AGA-only game that was 12 years later, and required 8Mb RAM and an accelerated 020) right below the "This was what Amiga graphics looked like back then! And unlike the game consoles of that era, I could program the Amiga!" and in front of 1987-era PC/Black&White Macintosh is rather misleading.

This is what Amiga graphics looked back then:

Still impressive btw...

The framed game "Amiga game graphics" is T-Zer0 developed by an Italian team for AGA systems ...

Cool reunion and nice to see how Commodore Amiga engineers look today :)

The most impressive story is the DirectX story.

I almost suspected that there was something from Amiga in the earlier DX (WinG).

"I suppose Alex's story should come as no real surprise. During the Amiga30th events people regularly approached one or more of the Amiga founders and thanked them for creating the Amiga and influencing their career paths. Who said, "only Amiga makes it possible?" Oh, and did I invest in Alex's new startup? What do you think? "

don't know what they're are doing, bu we trust you :P

This is not news to me, the story about DirectX was well known, just as Blue Ribbon / DirectSound.
Amiga was a blast so it's no surprise that its legacy has spread in more or less indirect ways (which is true for every new or successful technology, by the way) and its creators were sought after for other jobs. For example R. J. Mical worked at Sony as manager for the development tools on PS3/PSVita, you can see him credited in the end titles of many games like Heavenly Sword.

"Christian Zigotzky who will been demonstrating a special version of Debian 8 Jessie PowerPC SPE on some interesting hardware. "

Interesting HW?

"A late addition to the A-EON show team is another of our Core Linux team members, Pat Wall, who we think is bringing A.L.I.C.E. along to the show."

What is A.L.I.C.E?

@Spectre660

Trevor has really busy itinerary!

Some interesting hardware? Let's hope price of P1022 based hardware will be more close to p-cubed than to X5000.
