| Thanks. Here is actually very hard work with the renting house thingies to get the € for Amiga investments, sometimes 24/7 and then could relax with the Amiga.
Used to do all work with my A4000 in a hotel too. (1990-)
Was the good times. That's why so supportive as some 30 years of the hobby.
Trevor makes a great job and there will be hopefully a new os.
I do the dirty painting and cleaning jobs and cut the fences and grasses. Coders do as talented in that area.
One can allways hope. Not forbidden.

Nice update! Great news about the A.L.I.C.E. laptop. I think the P5040 version of the X5000 and that laptop are on my shopping list (finances willing). _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

| As much as I enjoy the ruminations and word on the availability of the ALICE laptop, I'm surprised that there's nothing mentioned about the A1222.
Is it still languishing?

Well, A1222 is noted in user comment Trevor mentioned. |

Let me clarify: mentioned in the context of a status update, not an anecdote.

It would be nice to get a status update on the X5000/40 too. _________________ Raptor BlackBird (awaiting a Miggy like OS) Amiga 4000 3.9 / Pegasos II 4.1 F.E. |

Also true... although I suspect after 2 years that the A1222 has become the biggest wildcard. |

Yeah, should be fairly straight forward to support the P5040 on the same board already in the wild compared to the Tabor which must be a liability for A-EON if they can't properly support the FPU functions at a high enough speed! _________________ "Art challenges technology. Completely agree with Trevor. |
Or could it possibly be that the platform has been spinning aimlessly like a rudderless ship since the demise of Commodore and left with an assortment of inept suitors?
I'm in no way pinning this on Trevor (he's a rarity) but the Amiga has never had a driving force providing leadership and direction and that absence results in the inmates attempting to run the asylum. |

Sad, but very true!
The Amiga has not had competent leadership, or management, ever since Commodore bought it and Jay Miner and all the group who invented the Amiga were no longer in control of how it was developed and improved. That happens with most things that are genius when created, but then bought by corporations led by people who have no vision or talent of their own. |

October 2017 was one date thrown around earlier this year. Doesn't look like it's going to happen. I think he said "early next year" in one interview on Youtube. It's frustrating because the boards were finished in 2015, but we all know AmigaOS 4 development isn't the speediest...They only managed to get it to actually boot into (a very glitchy) AmigaOS at all in late 2016. I guess the only reliable answer is it's one day closer than yesterday. Last edited by AdvancedFollower on 20-Sep-2017 at 08:13 AM.
