I have a 6570 Ultimate working well in my 460, and I have a psu of 350W but it's reported by The Daddy that it also works with a pico psu of 180W

This card interests me, would it fit in my SAM460 case and will the promised 3D drivers work with this card, want it for general use and games, is it recommended for these purposes?

@Spectre660

I am about to purchase this, I guess it fits in one slot, and compatible with is4. So, yay or nay?

Thanks!

@Everblue

Its your choice. But I think that you would regret it within a couple of months.
My Sam 440ep-Flex + HD5670 has better performance than this.

I would go for the 6570 if it won't kill your budget (Euro 69.95.)

@Spectre660

The problem is find a card which fits in a low profile case and it is 100 per cent sure that it is fully compatible.

There is a sapphire 6570 that physically fits but some on the compatibility site on HDR there are batches that don't work. This is the card:

http://www.conrad.com/Graphics-card-SapphireAMD-Radeon%26trade%3b-HD6570DDR3%2dRAMPCIe-x16DVI%2c-VGA%2c-HDMI.htm?websale7=conrad-int&pi=873594&Ctx=%7Bver%2F7%2Fver%7D%7Bst%2F3ec%2Fst%7D%7Bcmd%2F0%2Fcmd%7D%7Bm%2Fwebsale%2Fm%7D%7Bs%2Fconrad-int%2Fs%7D%7Bl%2Fint%2Fl%7D%7Bsf%2F%3Cs1%3ESapphire+6570%3C%2Fs1%3E%2Fsf%7D%7Bp1%2F375934318aa8847d1426e95cf8ddf5c6%2Fp1%7D%7Bmd5%2F0ab75177759314c28c50a7ea990ce88f%2Fmd5%7D

This is what it says:

Sapphire Radeon HD 6570 1GB DDR3 (11191-26-20G) Turks 0.49 Working It seems that there are a few bad batches of this card that boot to a black screen approx. 9 out of 10 times. Most should work perfectly though.

@Spectre660

"You may need a stronger PSU . 400W is recomended for these cards in the PC world."

No need for stronger PSU, I think. I have Radeon 6570 on my A1500 and the amperes taken
from the mains (including monitor) is only 360mA. That means 230*0.36=82,8W maximum....

Yeah but it's strange HDR reports problematic batches. Pit amigakit don't sell them any more.

@acmn

I might point out graphic cards, are currently not being stressed, maybe you get a higher demand of power supply if you run a theoretical 3d game.

@Everblue

Do you have the new RadeonHD 0.54 driver? You need to get this from AEON before you can use any RadeonHD graphics card over 4xxx.

We stock RadeonHD 6570 right now:

http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1116

We would need to check if it has low profile backplate in box first though.

Thanks Amigakit for your reply, I wasn't aware that you ahve the card in stock, I will buy one straight away!

I bought an Sam460ex system from Acube, and it came with the drivers. I am waiting for the login details to be mailed to me :)

According to the product's site it comes with a low profile bracket in box. Please confirm so I can place the order :) Thanks!

Sam 460ex does not come with the latest RadeonHD drivers. You can only obtain them from AEON by downloading from the secure website. Each driver is licenced individually. You will get a username and password for the driver download from AEON directly if ACube pay for your licence.

Acube did tell me that I will get the details from Aeon.

Please confirm if low profile brackets are included in the box. Thank you very much!

You keep saying you want Warp3d support, that's used for games & 3D apps like blender, you're going the wrong way by selecting a low end gfx card. What exactly do you intend to do on your SAM?

Also, please use tiny url if you post a long url, long url's mess up the forum page.

@sundown

Sorry for the long URLs... starting using my new Sam460 today, will take some time to get used to it.

As for your other question, well OS4 is more or less a hobbyist machine for me. I am not big in PC games so if I wanted to play games I would play on my PS3... On the other hand I would like to be able to use Warp3D in the future if the need arises or if I want to test out a little bit.

:)

I purchased the 6570 from Amigakit a month ago and this is what comes in the box.

Hope that helps :)

I was wondering what is the best GFX card for my SAM460 system I purchased from you, I currently have (as bought from you) a HD4650 but looks like it will not be supported by the new 3D drivers when they arrive! I use my system for photo editing and like to play 3D games when driver is released so which GFX card do you recommend?

Will the HD 6570 be fully supported as it's a card I can get from you so assume any cards you sell will be supported? Or would you recommend another card that you know will be supported?

I have a wallwart energy meter and it measured around 140 watt when I had my 1.8Ghz core2 system with Radeon 4670 running some games.

AFIAK Han's RadeonHD driver does not support the power management features of these cards so the power usage may already be close to what they would be under stress anyway.

@sicky

if you are looking for some punch a Radeon HD6670 with GDDR5 memory is the ticket.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102958

I have an HP OEM model and this is the only video card that I have tried on a Sam460ex were I can feel the difference instantly.My card has a bit of a quirk as it wont show Uboot unless a DVI to VGA adapter is used. I use HDMI normally unless I need to see the Uboot info on startup.
