Hi all,

I have updated my blog with a new entry looking at the Kryoflux using the X1000 (with the recently released AmigaOS4 drivers) and testing it's disk image writing using my A4000T.

Link is here:

http://amigax1000.blogspot.com.au/2014/03/kryoflux-on-x1000-and-a4000t.html

I hope you enjoy it!

That's nice, comparing that I've sent them en email a couple of months ago asking for the software to be available for AmigaOS 4 too. Great.

Thanks. That would be a useful addition to my X1000.

I think I'll wait for the GUI though.

great review on the Kyroflux ont the X1000! This along with the Catweasel are a must for NG miggy owners who don't have their classics setup but just wondering why you would need it if you have a 4000T with USB up and running? When my A1200 was down I used my Catweasel on my X1000 often but now I much prefer saving an adf on usb and sending over to my 1200 via Subway USB and writing the disk on my 1200.

of course that being said I understand the obsession us amigans have of messing with stuff 'just because we can' so bravo once again

very useful information, does it write back to disk also? could you make a boot able workbench disk?

@noXLar

Yes, you can write a bootable Workbench disk using Kryoflux. Workbench disk just needs a standard ADF file which it can be created from the original Workbench disk using Kryoflux (or just written out to a new disk if you have already got the workbench disk from somewhere else, eg. Amiga Forever).

I didn't demonstrate creating an ADF since I already had the disks on the X1000 ready for writing. But you can do this process using Kryoflux.

You can also use the Catweasel to do this read/write process for ADF files for non-copy protected amiga disks. (Catweasel does not do copy-protected disks).

Which one you use depends on your needs!

@QuBe & All

Thanks for the kind feedback about my blog. I really do enjoy writing it and I glad you enjoy reading it!

I hope the content is useful - I find myself referencing it now and again to remind myself much later on what I did to get something working...

The detail and length of articles is impressive. Keep it up.

I am very interested in what the Amiga NG can do with Graphics and Audio. Regarding graphics specifically, I am interested in the 3D. If you plan on writing about the Radeon Card and what can be done with it on an Amiga, that would be great, especially 3D packages, 3D demo's/engines etc.

Will be interesting to see what you review/setup next...

All the best, Q!

Timberwolf quit working on some sorely wanted site(s) and I had switched to OWB.

Because of your blog I'll give Odyssey a go. Important to me is use of "the browser" to navigate the many, many html files I have on my AmigaX1000 (and AmigaOne.. and Amiga1200 before that) whose links use Amiga Volume syntax, with which IBrowse (still the fastest by the way) works flawlessly with, but NONE of the other browsers follow/emulate/copy/...

If it out performs Timberwolf, it would seem I should donate to Kas1e as least as much as I did to Timberwolf (or I shouldn't use Odyssey). Yes?

Lastly, either you are a master at preplanning what to cover (and the order), or else you spend a whole bunch of hours producing a blog entry like this. Am envious if its the former.
