I wrote a Password encryption utility exclusively for Amiga OS4 named AmiSafe which can be found on OS4depot. It does not interact with browsers, rather it stores and encrypts passwords, credit card numbers, emergency phone numbers etc all in one single encrypted datafile using RIJNDAEL encoding based on a password you select. Cool! I need something like that. Would you (or me) be able to make a simple win32 or Linux (ANSI-C) emergency shell command for extracting the passwords in case one needs to access a backup and don't have a (working) Amiga at hand?
In this case it could simply export everything into a somewhat well formatted text file, or dump it into the console.Last edited by Deniil715 on 17-Jul-2014 at 11:03 AM.

I have the same keyboard / X1000 than you. I agree, very good keyboard !
But me, I had to remap some keys with AllKeys (for example the "@" or "\" keys). You, you didn't need to remap ?

I didn't need to remap keys like @ and \ - they worked perfectly when the new keyboard was plugged in to the X1000. I checked all the keys worked under AmigaOS4.1.6.
Update: The right ALT(Amiga) key doesn't appear to work. I think it is the same problem you mentioned here:
http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=37729&forum=16&start=100&117
ALT+F12 brings up the highlighted key as it did for you and the DSI...
I am looking at AllKeys, but no idea how to configure it. Backing up the allkeys.prefs and taking a look now...if you can provide some guidance on how to fix it that would be great!
Update 2: I used the mapmenu command tool in the AllKeys/Tools folder which maps the Right Amiga key to the Boing Ball key.
At least I have the key back - would be nice to know how to map it to the Right Amiga key properly though.
Despite this, the feel typing on this keyboard is amazing - for years I have suffered with crap keyboards...I might have to get a ducky zero standard keyboard for my Mac/PC.

| Hi All,
As an update I found the solution to my problem was indeed Allkeys and the MapMenu tool from Deniil 715 (available on os4depot).
I wrote up a quick blog entry on how to set this up (since I had to learn how to do it today).
Hopefully it helps anyone else who bought this keyboard or just wants to use the extra unused keys on their USB keyboard under AmigaOS4.

It's better to modify the keymap in order to remap standard keys. Only use AllKeys for special (non-printable) keys.
To remap the menu key as a RAmiga key, you can also do this: (untested) setenv SAVE usb/hid.keyboard/rgui 0x00070065
I think there's an easy way of swapping the Alt and Amiga keys too, but I can't find it at the moment.

I realised with the latest blog entry I have now written 100 blog entries in the X1000 blog! Been a lot of fun! With Amistore and multiple new and updated applications being released shortly and also the AmigaOS4.1 Final Edition too there is plenty of upcoming releases to keep my X1000 busy! |
by far the best amiga-related blog out there. thanks for the great content, and it was great seeing you at amiwest this year!

Thanks mate for your kind words - it was great to meet you at AmiWest 2014!
@all
Following feedback from people at AmiWest 2014 I have now merged my two Amiga blogs to one Amiga X1000 blog. I migrated all the Classic Amiga blog entries to the Amiga X1000 Blog, so everything is now accessible from the one blog.
The Amiga X1000 blog is now focused on Next Generation and Classic Amigas, which means I can expand this blog to cover all Amiga flavours (AmigaOS4, MorphOS, AROS, Classic Amiga) in one place. Since I have all of them it makes sense
To that end I have written a new blog entry this weekend looking quickly at the recently released Icaros Desktop 2.0 operating system upgrade on my Acer AspireOne Netbook.

| Hi All,
I have written a blog entry today looking at the release of AMIStore today on the X1000, and a quick look at some of the applications, utilities and drivers I have purchased and installed already from AMIStore on the X1000!
Very glad to have AMIStore available to all AmigaOS4.1 users, with the App Store content delivery model now available on Amiga!
