| @pseudaxos Sorry for the late response.

I have installed MorphOS on a SD card too today. I can tell you that it is very slow (even on a class 10 card). |
Well, I'm not a MorphOS user on the Sam, but normally, the only thing you need to be on a bootable media is MorphOS' kickstart/kernel (normally called boot.img, no idea how it's called on a Sam460, which is kinda unique among MorphOS systems), the rest of the system and the SYS: drive itself can happily coexist with OS4 (for example) on a hard disk.
It's the same on the Mac, where the boot.img has to reside on a HFS partition, so Apple's firmware can read and boot it, while the rest of the system sits on an SFS (by default) partition. Or when you run your system with a PCI SATA card in the Pegasos. The only thing which has to be on IDE is the boot.img, the rest of the system can stay anywhere the booted kernel can see it (on a SATA drive, for example).
Maybe such setup needs a bit of manual work, but I'm sure it would be a lot faster than running from the SD card._________________ MorphOS, classic Amiga, demoscene, and stuff "When a bridge is not enough, build a Viaduct!" By far the best thing in Amiga-Land for me. Thank you very much for the interesting and very informative blog.
Please keep up the good work.
Even if I'm not using my Amiga right now, it's always a pleasure to see what's goin on.

Great read as always It's a shame mt 460ex has a 6570, not yet supported.
By the way, how is your browsing experience with your 460CR and the 7750? And more in general what's the speed in browsing compared to your X1000? |

Browsing experience is ok on the Sam460, but it is slower than the x1000 is. YouTube and other video website don't work so well on the Sam460 compared to the X1000. I may have to do a side by side when I have a working X1000 again.
@all
I have written a new blog entry looking at the recently released games - Quake 2 high Definition Warp3D by HunoPPC, The Secret of Middle City (Demo) by GDG Entertainment and a quick look at the Warp3D version of Wings Battlefield. (All using AmigaOS4.1 Final Edition on my Sam460CR)
Link is here:

I will be on holiday for a bit from this week with no access to my Amiga systems so the blog will be paused until I return in August. In the meantime have a great time with your Amiga systems, Classic or Next Generation!

| @Epsilon Ace blog entry, as always. And thanks for checking Wings Battlefield again (and from your screenshots's golden game logo I can see that you activated the golden-supporter's mode you deserved ). I don't think my update went OK as I get the bottom portion of my screen blurred out when in full screen, window mode works great _________________ ____________________________ c64-2sids, A1000, A1200T-060@50(finally working!),A4000-CSMKIII ! I have updated my blog today with a detailed entry looking at the successful installation of AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition Classic on FS-UAE 2.5.29 DEV ...
|
Is also a detailed look at a successful installation of AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition Classic on an real Amiga4000 with CyberstormPPC available somewhere? As I intend to buy OS 4.1 FE Classic and replace my experimental OS 4.0 Classic installation with that... Regarding your blog: Great work as far as I read!_________________ Ciao

So what is your point here? I also have a souped up A4000PPC, mainly running OS 3.9. For me OS 3.9 is the best OS3.x ever - no matter, if you consider it to be a "genuine" Amiga OS or not.
For me it still works better than my experimental OS 4.0 classic installation, that doesn't fully support my HW..._________________ Ciao
