Is it just me, or is this website a tad messed up?
http://www.amiga.com/
Nevermind. It was a page full of SQL error messages, now fixed.

WRIT really needs to post a retraction or clarification SOON!
You need the context to understand what was said.
Poster: Quote:
Amiga Inc sponsoring too? I thought they claimed Amiga Inc/McBill was not involved with Writer's Group any longer? 3 companies all sponsoring together? |
WRIT PR: Quote:
LOL. now then. where are you getting 3 companies. All of them are wholly owned subsidiaries of WRIT MEDIA GROUP.so where are you getting 3 companies????? |
The obvious connotation is that he's saying these are not companies but "subsidiaries". That's quite different than saying "Amiga Inc." is NOT one of these subsidiaries.
Investor's Hub post deletions have begun again. No surprise.

Just a note on the first race in case anyone wishes to view the car:
Saturday September 27, 2014 (today) 3:30 EDT on ESPN.
I have no clue about broadcast outside the U.S.

Well, that was certainly one way to assure a closeup of RetroInfinity, Amiga, and the Boingball. And a couple of ESPN replays to boot. Heh.

| Well, the shop is supposed to be open, the car has raced and... the price has dropped.
I don't know how effective this exercise was at advertising the brand as I'm not convinced that racing fans are the target audience for retro games, and not being a racing fan myself, I don't know who actually pays attention to the sponsors. My soccer team has been sponsors by online betting companies for years, but I've never been to the websites or placed a bet.
Amiga Inc have had the Blackberry shop selling games for ages and they haven't skyrocketed as a company, so Amiga Games/WRIT/Retro Infinity/whatever they're called selling a couple of old Gremlin games in the same manner might have a tough time. Granted they're targeting PCs and smart phones where the market is bigger, so we might just have to wait for the next quarterly report to see if they're selling anything.
I have a feeling that the purpose of this exercise was not to sell games, but to convince a couple of investors to hand over some serious cash in order to keep the ball rolling for another few months. We shall see. _________________ AmigaOne X1000, A4000(T), A3000, A2000, A1200(T), A1200, A500, CD32, Minimig+ARM, FPGA Arcade, Chameleon64, C-One, C128, C128D, C64C, C64, VIC-20, CBM 8032, CBM4032, Efika, Ultimate64 |

Martyn Brown is a very active internet person, he posts on news forums and so on and he knows whats going on but maybe someone (AGI) failed to grasp the dream17 policy?.
i know that some of the other games have been "ok'd" by the owner(s) of the IP and that it was done in a proper and good manner but reading sites like Eurogamer and IGn on these things certainly makes me pretty sure that many of the titles is games they "thought" was free due to them being released on BTTR,Amigafuture cd's and so on.
i contacted many devs in the last decade and most of them who i actually could reach basically said, "yes sure you can do that as we don't care" and others (atari / owner of ocean/infogrames etc) was more like.. hmm what? , do we own that?.
i bet Andreas Magerl can fill in loads of these things as he works on getting games for his magazine AmigaFuture a lot, maybe he have been contacted by AGI ? |
Stumbled on the policy, so I thought it might be worth a read to those who don't know. Sorry for not including this earlier:

Weekly summary:
After promoting Nascar, they listed some s/w titles here:
http://www.amigagamesinc.com/
and here:
http://retroinfinity.com/
After that:
QualityStocks Releases Interview with WRIT Media Group (WRIT) CEO
and their same stock promotion company (QS) also put together a 22-page Investor Relations Kit.
Upshot of all this:
The stock fell further to 0.0177 with bids of only one U.S. penny (according to investor's hub poster). No stock is being bought or sold.
Still firmly in the "wait and see" category.

Are there still signs of life over there?
Looking at that last press release, I'm rather confused as to what exactly was being announced too. Mind you, I though they said everything was going to be ready to go with the NASCAR advertising and nothing really seemed to happen apart from the shop opening with a couple of (naff) games and a bunch of placeholders for unavailable titles.
I guess nobody at the racetrack was willing to invest millions based on some car stickers.
When I saw you had posted in this thread I was hoping their latest financial statement was available. I bet that will make interesting reading. _________________ AmigaOne X1000, A4000(T), A3000, A2000, A1200(T), A1200, A500, CD32, Minimig+ARM, FPGA Arcade, Chameleon64, C-One, C128, C128D, C64C, C64, VIC-20, CBM 8032, CBM4032, Efika, Ultimate64 |

Well, after a nick of @Sharkness5 (obviously a play on "loan shark") posted offering them money to get out of debt, we have today's:
Source
What makes me think they don't have a product and that this kickstart thing is to raise money (as another poster suggested above) is the following wording:
Quote:
More detailed information, including a web-link to the project, will be provided next week on the launch date. |
web-link to "project", not "product".
Perhaps it's just bad wording again. dunno.

After a mini-countdown to the quarterly report by an Investor's hub member:
This morning we get this:
Notification That Quarterly Report Will Be Submitted Late
Nothing new.

LOL. Colour me surprised.
I guess they're going to try and milk some potential investors at the racetrack before they have to announce the latest bad news from the accounting front.
I thought these races were supposed to be the venue where they launches their products. Seems they just wanted to play games (rather than release some) and strut around the grounds pretending to be a big company.
I can't help thinking that "Gregg" posts a lot like Dammy used to in the CUSA days. You know, trying not to get caught telling porkies while hyping up the company the mostly nonexistent products. Coincidence? Same person or just the same job spec? _________________ AmigaOne X1000, A4000(T), A3000, A2000, A1200(T), A1200, A500, CD32, Minimig+ARM, FPGA Arcade, Chameleon64, C-One, C128, C128D, C64C, C64, VIC-20, CBM 8032, CBM4032, Efika, Ultimate64 |
