@zzd10h

Any more info about Haiku running on aCube 460ex?

I am a Haiku user and would digg an AmigaBox running Haiku.

@Thellier

Yes (let's talk in English on English forums) indeed, Elwood only talked about Gallium possibilities, nothing more.

All conferences have been recorded by the way so we should have them soon hopefully.

Regarding photos, I will post them soon (still at the Alchimie in order to finish cleaning).

Amigasociety : I could not follow Haiku's conference so we'lle have to wait for a report.

And finally, Crisot released a new demo, named logically Three, for AmigaOS 4. And yes, it really rocks, even on a Sam440 733 Mhz (ACube seemed to really appreciate it ).

Where can i find it?

Merci Alain,
Mais zut, j'avais cru comprendre qu'il y avait un support prévu pour warp3D...

I am not sure but I think in addition to software rendering and Gallium drivers, it may be possible to reuse drivers in a third way, but with specific work.

About the event ... it was great ! 200 people attended, with a big part of amigans (classic, OS4 or MorphOS). I would like to thank companies who spent the week-end with us: Relec, Amedia and ... ACube, who brought surprises!

There were several conferences (OS4, MorphOS, Haiku, demo scene, ...). About Haiku, the state of the port on Sam460 was shown. In fact, at the moment, it does not boot a graphical environment.

Crisot: Tell me you used Hieronymus to help optimizing for the Sam440

Crisot will release it soon on OS4Depot (he wants to add an icon and fix some little glitches).

@corto

Bummer about Haiku. Same state as it was before. Of course I understand it takes lots of work so.

Anyway, seems like the show was a fun one.

I'll release it ASAP, but even if working on any NG amiga with Warp3D, the demo need a major workaround to get ride of sound distortion on XE. My old workaround become insufficient since I draw much more complex scene than ever :(

I'll release it with sound corruption in a first time, at least Sam/Peg/X1000 users can enjoy it.

Anyway, don't expect something from another dimension, it's a 5 days work.

(The demo will in all cases be updated in a near future to enhance performances on low end CPU).

@TrevorDick

I agree : nice photos, with happy faces or concentrated people. I hope we will see you on photos next time

I like the one with Enrico playing Dreamcast

It would be nice someone writes a summary of the event, even if pictures talk well by themselves.

We had a live concert on Saturday night.

And we also celebrated Huno's birthday

Thanks to Swiss people for the opportunity to taste products from there. That's always a pleasure, in a very friendly ambiance.

To those that asked about Gallium3D or Warp3D:

- I didn't speak about Warp3D. I'm not an expert so I may have said something related (see below).

- I said (like Steven said) that Gallium3D is right now running in software rendering mode. The work on WinSys has just begun. Note that WinSys is one component of G3D. It is tied to the underlying kernel/OS. Read on Wikipedia for more details.

- Gallium3D on AmigaOS will have to support non-G3D drivers as well, in order not to let people with Classic behind.
