@Chrys_Y & wawa
Thanks, yes, I readed that when published, but as Elyahu wrote that he used this function in FinalEdition, I thought that I misunderstood something.

@eliyahu
Great explanation. I was hoping that I misunderstood something and that, magically, the OS will adress more than 2gb.
But even if only RAM Disk uses it in future, it's a good point !

Thx

Will AmigaOS 4.1 FE be a licence per user or will each Amiga need its own licence?

AmigaOS licensing is per computer.
Example: Two users on the same computer require one license. (one OS CD)
Example: Two Sam460 computers require two licenses. (two OS CDs)
Each installation does not need to be made from a unique CD, so you can use the same Sam460 install CD for as many Sam460 computers for which you purchased an OS license.

Will there be a version for OS4.1FE for classics?

"All supported platforms" means:
Eyetech AmigaOnes
ACube Sams
Cyberstorm / Blizzard PPC (Classic)
Pegasos 2
A-EON X1000 and X5000

@all

I have posted my final Amiwest 2014 blog entry covering the banquet on Saturday night and the last day on Sunday.

I had a great time and met a lot of great people and learned a lot!

I hope my Amigaos4.1 Classic presentation on winuae was useful!

For everyone who thanked me here for the blog posts during the show - you are very welcome. I wanted to share what was happening here asap!

Link is here:

Tomorrow the very long trip home begins...

In an earlier post I said that the new release was an update, and required a previous license.

The information was from a reliable source at that time.

As has been mentioned in a press release since then, my information was incorrect.

I regret giving the wrong info. On the other hand, I am glad that the new release will have a wider audience.

Me too This "impression" was pretty clear yesterday.. But what ever the case, hope this means many more OS sales

I have now edited my previous post and I quote the official news, "AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition requires NO previous version of AmigaOS 4.x and is a stand-alone product, quite possibly the most affordable version of AmigaOS ever to be released."

I spoke with Robert Bernardo, who shoots independently of the feed/stream, about this.

He assures me there will be uploads. I specifically asked if this captured the early minutes when ambient sound was drowning out the first speaker. He said yes. So, be patient, it will all be there.

Yes. Its sata2 and the pci sata cards are sata 1. I bought a brand new 2.5 laptop hdd to use with it when I first got my board 18months ago. And when I occupy the pci slot in my slimline x500 case, I a. Cannot plug in my catweAsel and b. Have to use an extender ribbon just to clear the case.
I would prefer the sata2 slot to function as advertised with my drive.
No I would not like to to beta testing for a paid product on the basis of I like my data integrity and dont like pretty constant crashes.

Right now it doesnt matter so much as I recently inserted the sata card in the slot backwards and let out some 'magic smoke'. (yes laying the card down flat with an extender ribbon necessitates removing the metal backing.

I hope this is fixable if I sent it back for repairs to acube.

My yearly review of Amiwest. Basically I thought it was better organized and seemed like a lot of fun...

@tlosm

No worries!

I enjoyed AmiWest 2014, it was a lot of fun.

I wanted to keep everyone up to date with what was happening during the show in a timely fashion and to take as many pictures as I could. It was challenging at times as I was an Exhibitor as well!

I am heading off now for the long trip home so I will be offline for a few days.

No doubt we will chat again when I am back home in Australia.

Epsilon

Its a shame there seems to be to be no further news on Timberwolf in particular.
