Great news. Prior to your MPlayer version and the RadeonHD 2.4 driver the Sam460ex could handle 480p xvid ok with Dvplayer . _________________ Sam460ex : Radeon Rx550 Single slot Video Card : SIL3112 SATA card |

| I downloaded the driver from a-eon.biz, but is it version 1.2? How can I tell? The readme says it's 1.0.
Cheers

On the a-eon site its 1.0. In AmiStore is 1.2. At least last time i was up there. Just do a version on the RadeonHD.chip and youll see what version it is. It installs it in dh0:Kickstart/

Probably is V 1.0. Looks like you need to access the AMIStore to download v1.2

Thanks for that. I was given the a-eon link yesterday by AmigaKit, as it wants to charge me on the AmiStore. I guess you updated via the AmiStore and it charged you nothing?

I had the 1.0 from the a-eon which you can download and install. In amistore press on the buy and see after if you can download it without to pay. |

It took me a while to figure out that after logging in, the version 1.2 upgrade was available for free in the "Show my purchases and downloads" section, rather than clicking on the products list/grid where it would still quote me the price.
Hope that helps

Yeah there needs to some better representations of stuff like that. A red circle with a number inside it something like that - you log in and see straightaway what's new without hunting around.
Open shell and type 'version kickstart/radeonhd.chip' to display currently installed version of the driver. Last edited by djrikki on 14-Nov-2014 at 05:57 PM. Last edited by djrikki on 14-Nov-2014 at 05:55 PM.

This is probably a dumb question...but will the new Radeon drivers help with the built in Radeon graphics of the micro A1? Or am I stuck needing to buy a new AmigaOne to take advantage of these new video drivers?
Thanks,

The new driver supports cards from X1300 onwards. |

The RadeonHD drivers were primarily developed for the AmigaONE X1000 (and future models) which have a fast PCI-e slot. The Sam460 and Amiga one 500 models also have a PCI-e slot. Most of the RadeonHD cards are PCI-e but there are some cards that come as a PCI variant. We supplied one of these to Stephen Fellner to use in his SAM 440 system so he could develop the undated version of DvPlayer with composite video support. So "in theory" a RadeonHD PCI card could be used in any machine with a compatible PCI slot but ...... I don't know whether the Micro A1c's PCI slot is fast enough or electrically compatible with a PCI RadeonHD card. However, I understand there are other issues when using a plugin graphics card on the Micro?
Info from the RadeonHD version 1.0 brochure on AMIstore:-
RadeonHD Series:
Most graphics cards in the RadeonHD series are supported including:-
● R520 (X1300-X1950 series) ● R700 (HD4000 series) ● Evergreen (HD5000 series) ● Northern Islands (HD6000 series) ● Southern Islands (HD7000 series)
Latest Radeon Rx Series:
Added support for the latest generation of AMD Radeon Rx graphics cards from the R5, R7 and R9 series:
● Radeon R5 230/235/235X (GPU = Caicos XT) ● Radeon R7 250X (GPU = Cape Verde XT) ● Radeon R9 255 (GPU = Cape Verde PRX) ● Radeon R7 265 (GPU = Pitcairn Pro) ● Radeon R9 270 (GPU = Curaçao Pro - rebranded/updated Pitcairn GPU) ● Radeon R9 270X (GPU = Curaçao XT - rebranded/updated Pitcairn GPU) ● Radeon R9 280 (GPU = Tahiti Pro) ● Radeon R9 280X (GPU = Tahiti XR2 - Tahiti XT GPU)
The following graphics cards from the Sea Islands series GPUs are not currently supported:-
● Radeon HD 7790: GPU = Bonaire XT ● Radeon R7 260: GPU = Bonaire ● Radeon R7 260X: GPU = Bonaire XTX
NOTE: There are differences and incompatibilities between cards supplied by different manufacturers. Check with AEON or the Amiga forums for information about Radeon graphics cards that have been tested and are know to work.

PCI editions of RadeonHD cards are universal PCI cards so voltage isn't a concern.
I don't think that anyone has successfully got another Video card to work with the MicroA1, if the the RadeonHD cards do work the USB will have to be turned off like on DMA fixed XE's. |

Hello, Is Radiance package will be (really) soon available ?
I would like to try PPaint, Invent backdrops, Candy, etc but I prefer to buy the whole package than the individual availables components.
Is the availability planned at the same time than 4.1 FE ?
Thank you for your reply
