@mbrantley

So what you are trying to say, you agree with the sentiments of later posts?

@thread

I think I can summarize Vampire for you:

"Vampire - taking Amiga 68K where it should have gone if C= and Motorola hadn't f**ked it up!".

There. :)

You busted me there. Either Netsurf went a little crazy.... or there was a loose nut on my keyboard.

Of course not.

This is yet another lie of gunnar von boehn.

Commodore before bankruptcy has some working prototypes with good old HP PA-RISC 7100 100 MHz cpu.

Vampire crap is still slower than these unfinished prototypes, still slower than good old HP PA-RISC 7100 100 MHz.

@ppcamiga1

What could have been is a futile exercise since, you know, Commodore went bankrupt.

Could they have delivered something of higher performance than Apollo Team? I guess, but its a moot point since they didnt.
Apollo Team has delivered a good product that delivers much better performance than the Blizzard 1230 I have used since the 90s (at a lower price), with the exception of a FPU, which is in the works.

If your argument is that the Vampire doesnt deliver in the performance vs cost ratio compared to mainstream computers, then you are correct. But the same is the case for PPC AOS/MorphOS.

Its not why we stick with this hobby. Its because we enjoy it.

@ppcamiga1

Can you share the benchmark results for your unfinished HP PA-RISC 7100 100 MHz prototype?

@ppcamiga1

keep your trash language to yourself...

you still do not understand... I try to say it that even you understand

People... (you understand people?) user, amiga user as alternative

are (in many cases) nostalgic (=retro, backward looking) people who like to discuss what could have / would have been if amiga would still exist. Even if someone like you not understands that they see amiga identical with the old 68k hardware. Should I tell you a open secret... I do not understand why you promote your weird PPC platform. I would have understood if you would promote X64 or ARM but who needs a obscure hardware platform like PPC today.

People dream what would have been if amiga would have continued to be developed and motorola would have developed new 68k processors. And that is exactly what a FPGA solution can offer.

Shalll I tell you another secret... your postings create even more aversions against PPC

@OlafS25

The reason about PPCAmiga1 is posting here is, because he's selling Amiga PPC-Harware...

And now he's becoming afraid of the big success of the Vampire Cards.

sweet... what do you use it for? What a little machine...

I think PC level 10 years ago. Such a machine people would not even use as a doorstopper today. Even my smartphone is faster than that

So you say people should drop 20 years old hardware in favor of 10 years old hardware

Sounds like a plan... very convincing

@Birbo

you sell something by giving good reasons to buy your hardware not by talking down competition using trash language or attacking people

he is doing the opposite... he gives reasons not to buy PPC hardware

anyway Vampire and PPC hardware are completely different platforms so most people buying Vampires would have not even thought about buying PPC instead

That might change with a standalone device (faster, more ram and so on)

This could indeed become competition for at least Tabor
