This quote from Gunnar Link

Quote:
[...] SAGA combines the orignal AMIGA AGA chipset with always wanted features liek 8bit Chunky, 15bit Chunky, 16bit Chunky , 24bit Chunky, 32bit Chunky. But SAGA offers more.

SAGA also provides ATARI screenmodes. NEO-GEO colors modes, and much more.

And SAGA combines this in a TRUE AMIGA fashion. So that the COPPER can control all these modes in real AMIGA style. SAGA is AMIGA done right.

But before you get too excited.
We are testing SAGA compatibility one be one. This will take time.

Gets me really excited. I know it is something really "retro" and that a fast enough 2D HW does not need all these tricks, but being literally grown up in the era of custom chipsets full of tricks makes me really really excited about this.
Can't wait

The standalone board is already there.
Its fully done and we are testing the boards at the moment.
So the feature 'wish' list for the stand alone board is closed, at least for this generation.

Are the specs/features of this stand-alone board published?

@NovaCoder

I just posted that question in that thread on Apollo forum. Considering he said "this generation", I would not be suprised if the first version of standalone will be more or less V500/600 with some tweaks, and better spesifications later on.
But again, thats just me speculating, so lets see what the response is to my direct question.

demoscener use WinUAE that is AmigaOS 3 environment fastest than any other OS3 solution together with real Amiga 68k to give maximum compatibilty with Classic Amigas.
Amiga Demoscene production should be run on any Amigas (with AMMX support, will run any very few cards).
But like some games, someone will convert some demo with AMMX optimizations

I'm on the same train... it would be wonderful to have a Vampyre dedicated demoscene
