Even better, compare to today 68030 CPU cards (for price probably greater than Vampire) - Vampire/Apollo is the best CPU card for Amiga since demise of Phase5!

then is the ten times less difference to some g4 mac still worth such a mention? |
To be more precise: PowerBook G4 (1.666?? GHz) runs Cinema4D 16x faster than Vampire. Trance 68k JIT gives cca 1/3 of native performance, so said PowerBook is nearly 50x faster. However, classíc and NG market are not directly comparable (different needs and expectations).Last edited by pavlor on 11-Dec-2015 at 02:14 PM. Last edited by pavlor on 11-Dec-2015 at 02:13 PM.

except... vampire hardware exists as well, no matter as long as you will try to deny it. i have someone in neibourghood who has one (development version). |

"They DO exist!"
This is beginning to sound like an M&Ms commercial.
I know Majsta has made some boards.
I've been following that since the beginning.
The soldering technique used on the early boards was damned cool (can you tell I'm a hardware junkie?)
Its the 'pixie dust' aspect of all these other claims that baffles me.
Why is there so much blind faith in our community? |

Funny, I got THAT. Thanks. My I DO get overwrought about some of this.
While you are out there creating the 'ultimate' cpu card, recreate some of those old Sonnet Mac 7200 PPC accelerator cards for the WarpOS supporters. |

its not faith. its simply facts. various people around are posting benchmarks and films about this. i rather ask myself why you need to go around and try to force on everybody your opposite opinion, now that they, as it seems reach their goal, for everybody to check out. even if they were not delivering absolutely everything as what they promise, 100eur is not that a big risk, this is the first time since long you can get so much for so little on the so called amiga market.
now why do you get so upset about it? i know you are a bit special, but this is as if i suddenly went around and told anybody, morphos was a myth.. sigh.Last edited by wawa on 11-Dec-2015 at 06:27 PM. Last edited by wawa on 11-Dec-2015 at 06:06 PM. Last edited by wawa on 11-Dec-2015 at 06:06 PM.

| It has been a long time since i posted here, i thought i should post something to say that not only does Majsta have the production boards but i do also. They are not a myth, they are real and they work damn fine if i may say so myself. I am not smart enough to use dpaint so i am thankful i don't need to to be able to show everyone just how well these boards work. If this sounds like an advertisement, then i suppose it is, i just want people to know that your Amigas (not just the A600) will soon get new life injected into them

If this is similar to OS4 Petunia, then non-JIT result could be cca 40x slower than JIT result. I could try with WinUAE/OS4, but it could take more than hour to complete... |

Trance is more advanced than Petunia, but is not ideal. Try running SysInfo under OS4. _________________ A1200 BlizzardPPC BVision FastATA Eth 3Com, EFIKA5K2

I don´t think SysInfo works under OS4...
My own experience with built-in emulation in OS4 (dnetc benchmark in this case):
Petunia gives cca 1/3 (OGR-NG) to 1/4 (RC5-72) of native performance Interpretive emulation gives cca 1/40 of performance with Petunia (= 1/120 to 1/160 of native performance) |

That is very good news, but the definition of what "soon" means in the Amiga community can be very different from one person to the next. I just hope it is not "Two more weeks" (which on some projects has meant years longer, or never to be produced beyond prototypes, or a few boards for the developers working on the project).
Do you know how and when more boards are going to be produced for sale to the average Amiga user? Are they going to be produced by group funding, or pre-sales to raise the money for the cost to have the boards made? Has the design process for other models of the Amiga been completed? Has the design for accelerator cards for any of the other Amiga models even started?
Even if the answer to all of these questions is NO, and no decisions have been made regarding other models yet, it would be better to share that information and be open and up front with what is going on, instead of having incorrect information and unrealistic expectations floating around the community.
I hope that you or Gunnar can and will answer these questions soon. Like many other users, I am very interested in this project. |

Why should I slowdown when a fast mode is there? But for the record: Does take 38s.
Thing is I don't want to belittle Apollo. It's great (and may purchase one myself). But it's still a "pocket calculator". Even the G4 of my powerbook is slower than a mid class smart phone of today. _________________ My programs: via.bckrs.de MorphOS user since V0.4 (2001) |

WHEN you get your core, congratulations are in store. I never doubted the hardware side of this, just the sprinkling of 'Magic/Natami cpu Pixie dust'.
So when is that due? Two weeks? |

Well, as my phone is more modest, its cpu is clocked almost identically with my 1.42GHz iBook, BUT the phone has four cores. |
