This is very cool, I've been trying to get them to do a video of this port running on the Vamp 2 for ages

another nice little video...

https://youtu.be/ilePpSHOEWc

Here is a short video done by Shk of the latest core showing audio/cpu and internet usage of the Vampire which is still the 64MB board used here. First mp3 is playing from HDD and the rest is streaming 192 kbps net radio and 128Kbps

Hardfiles = slow. Maybe adding more buffers would help. Did you try some more demanding games (eg. Populous 2 would work in 16 colours)?

@kipper2k

Problem with Mac emulation is most nice newer games need 256 colours - you can´t show true power of Vampire/Apollo in B/W or even 16 colours. Once you have 256 colour mode, SimCity2000 or Warcraft would be useable.

I can send you hardfile with some software for testing and propagation purposes, but as I wrote 256 colours required. PM me your email if interested.

@kipper2k

If it comes to Mac emulation you need to activate MMU. Fusion is a good choice. It's got one of the fastest gfx drivers, if not the fastest.

You need to add buffers, at least 500 and change block size of the partition to 2k.
You'll notice the difference. Also, SFS or PFS for Mac Hardfiles is a good choice.

Good, great to at last see some more demanding demonstrations of compatibility! How about Shapeshifter? Is there not a P96 for your Indivision ECS (I take for granted that you one have one ;) ) that makes 8bit mode possible also for Mac emulation? How about running Symantec System Info, so one can compare against for example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ug4_yh3Q288 :)

That requires that there is one, and one that is compatible with what the software expects to find. Last I heard, a 040 compatible MMU was not on the roadmap.

Which version of KingCON comes with AKReal?

Still to be seen:
* OS3.5+ showing Reaction programs, for example Prefs programs.
* OS3.5+ showing updated ROM updates, or updated (OS3.9) kickstart.
* In general, soft-kicking other kickstarts than those built in on A600 motherboard.
* AROS/68k - there is a boot floppy one can download and just boot, but it too requires softkicking to work, to load the 1MB large AROS kickstart.

@OlafS25

Not really, no. Look - it shows kickstart 3.1, so no ROM update, and no demo of any Reaction programs. OS3.5 boots like that perfectly fine on any 68000 too, given enough RAM.
