| Well as the title says, is there any news at all about the release of Tabor?
I was under the impression, that it was to be released in Q1. _________________

I don't think any release date has ever been given aside from Trevor saying it will be available before May. That is a reference to the A1500+ cases which are due to start shipping around then. |

I hate to be the guy that answers in this way. But...
... when it's (by which I mean the sound driver, some extra tweaks required for the reworked motherboard and the licensing for an awesome software bundle) done! _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

Maybe you could start off by asking them a simpler question. Given at AmiWest 2018 (and since) it was made clear that due to the enormous delays parts had become obsolescent that needed to be replaced...
Have these parts been replaced? If so, has there been a production run, which had not taken place prior to this announcement?
Then you can move on to audio driver talk etc.
Added: Oh, since Trevor mentioned waiting on an ISO from Hyperion and Hyperion has already indicated their part on Tabor is finished...that's another question on which to get clarification.

Maybe the CD-ROM got lost in the post or Hyperion are using it to shine sunlight in Cloanto's eyes in court _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

| Is Tabor by A-Eon?
There is no information about Tabor on the official A-Eon website. http://www.a-eon.com/
Perhaps it is canceled? |

Pre-release marketing is not recommended in AmigaLand unless you present a mysterious internet page with a riddle or similar! The Tabor genie is out of the bag and has been demoed in the wild. Not much mystery left to bother marketing in that way IMHO. _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

I think Trevor said something about it being available when the new Checkmate case was released, and May was inferred from that. Of course situations have developed, so the May time frame may no longer be viable, since A-EON depends on Hyperion as an OS supplier.

In Trevor's blog update from the 4th of Feb he says they are working with the PCB manufacturer who will be handling the next production run and the redesign to replaced the obsoleted components. I don't think there's been any public update on the situation since then. |

| So one more month??
The "when it's done" answer is such a crappy answer that works only in amiga land. _________________

This year. It was answer given to a question in relation to the A1500+ case which is supposed to arrive in May. |

Redesign?
Well, that's a perfect opportunity to dump that crazy CPU then...

I think it's a small revision to replace some supporting components so a CPU switch isn't within the scope of this. |

Yeah, why don't we wait another 5 years while they redesign it into a ARM based, battery powered Nintendo Switch killer I mean we've all got time to kill haven't we? I suggest a Christmas 2024 release date then delayed to Q2 2025!
How about we design a completely new case for the Tabor to compete with the CheckMate one except that it won't be ready until 2022 because we want to start from scratch because we can! Last edited by BigD on 05-Apr-2019 at 08:27 AM.
