Hmmm ... yeah, that pretty much shoots down that theory.

| Slightly on topic again (I apologize)
I've fixed the event stuff (been broken for a while probably, don't think anyone reported it broken, but I might just have missed it)
Added Amiwest to the Calendar so it shows up now as an event, if you know of future events you might want to repost them. _________________ --- Sibbi

| I'll be there again.
Is there going to be a repair party on Friday night again? I'd love to get my 1200 recapped if possible.

If Paul Rezendes is attending AmiWest this year, and if you contact him in advance and ask him if he can recap your A1200 during any day of the show, you might be able to get it done. There are other AmiWest Show attendees that are capable of doing recapping work, but I don't know if any of them will be offering that service at this year's show. Paul goes by the nick name of Aciil (or is it Acill, my eyes aren't what they used to be). _________________ Amiga! Increased interest in the classic platform has prompted the addition of a Classic Day! What started as the Friday evening Classic Clinic is now an entire Classic Day devoted to legacy Amigas. Watch this blog for more info as our plans develop.

AmiWest 2019 and associated events start in 90 days! If you haven't made plans yet, now is the time. Be sure to sign up for hotel, DevCon and banquet reservations here.
Our theme this year is the Amiga user. Even others outside of our community have noted how strong the Amiga community has become. We are determined and undaunted. It's all powered by Amiga users.
Do come and be a part. We have a great time sharing what has happened over the past year as well as looking forward. With new developments in the Classic world, AmiWest 2019, the 22nd AmiWest show, promises to be exciting.
So remember: AmiWest 2019 and associated events will be October 23-27, 2019 at the Holiday Inn Express, 2224 Auburn Blvd., Sacramento, CA. Make your plans to attend now. If you've attended before, bring one other person who is new to the show. If this will be your first time, welcome to the show! See our website at amiwest.net for the latest information and watch this blog for breaking news about the show. See you in October! |

Who knows what the current situation is at Hyperion, after the recent restructuring? Does anyone work for Hyperion any more?
It certainly does not seem that anyone at Hyperion is doing any development work on AmigaOS4, when was the last report of any new development work done on AmigaOS4 (not counting the work being done by the development team A-Eon and AmigaKit has put together, and is funding)?
If the rumors are true about the "NDA" contract that the AmigaOS3.1.4 developers were tricked into signing, why would any developer be willing to do work for Hyperion again? _________________ Amiga! Please elaborate, as I am very curious and I have not heard about this "NDA" rumour. |

If you have noticed, Hyperion has busy doing other things.
* Shogo: Mobile Armor Division, was updated in March 17. 2019 * Amiga OS3.1.4.1 update, July 8, 2019. * Shogo: Mobile Armor Division, updated again July 10, 2019 * AmigaOS 3.1.4 September 30, 2018.
The NDA prohibits developers and beta testers from talking about unfinished work, it normal for most companies to have this.
Hyperion in the past has burnt itself when talking about things they worked on. Users really do not understand the amount of work that goes into development, and how there can be setbacks. It where hard to estimate time for something you never ever done fore as well, and if developers are more or less doing this when they have time as hobby, without a lot pay, then it becomes impossible to estimate time of compilation. I'm sorry, but I can't spend the time to find the links to the reports from some people that claim the AmigaOS3.1.4 developers signed what they thought was a simple NDA, and it turned out to be some other kind of contract, which was not favorable for them, and actually gave up some (or all) of their control of their own code to Hyperion, with regards to what is included in 3.1.4. At this time, since I have not seen any statements directly from the developers who did the work on 3.1.4 that confirm or deny the statements of others, the statements remain only a rumor. I usually don't spread rumors, but this one is pretty serious, and I think that all Amiga users should know the truth about what happened, and I hope that the developers who wrote AmigaOS3.1.4's changes, will step forward and either confirm or deny this rumor._________________ Amiga! Although I shall also stress "rumor", this rumor is by no means confined to developers of the AmigaOS 3.1.4 update...
