Video CDs are really hard to come by.. they are so from 90s! |
heh. but if source material is only available in .mpg 352x240...you can't really go back and ask the creator to do it over in HD, so there is some point to having proper access here to the old codecs. Haynie's Death Bed Vigil was shot in 8mm. Should we also request he redo that in HD? heh.

"edit: are you sure you are using it to play VCDs and not DVDs? Because the "dvd-device" option in your config file will not tell mplayer to look on the sb600sata for VCDs, so using your exact command line will suppress the output telling it can not find the a1ide.device (which seems to be hardcoded in mplayer 6.4).."
Sorry, I should have mentioned that my config file was for the X1000 only, I don't have any other amigas to test VCDs on. But if your VCDs do play on the X1000, that would still be helpful to know.
One other test I did was to copy the .DAT to a Windows 10 hard drive, renamed it to video.mp4 to see if the PC would play it, it did with VLC. Just took a min or so to load up. Painful way to save VCDs & requires more testing. _________________ Hate tends to make you look stupid... |

And even more, mplayer 6.4 will not play the .DAT files on the AmigaOne-XE! For all of the VCDs that mount on WB I tried, mplayer will tell me the Seek error using the options above, but play the VCDs just fine with the VCD:// option.. I'm talking about the AmigaOne-XE here. |
Probably has something to do with what's mentioned at the bottom of this page: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/HTML/en/vcd.html
I've sent you an e-mail. |
