One the side note, is there an application for AmigaOS that can use the graphics memory as main (shared) memory?
My Micro-A1 - C that still works fine has Radeon 7000 32 MB (AGP 2×) and opens 1080p just fine. With the 3 GB on the XFX Radeon and the 4x2 GB RAM and will have a total of 11GB available on Amiga. Pretty huge in Amiga terms.
Thanks for your info about what video cards work in the X1000. I'm going to try a Radeon HD 7850 in mine, but it appears that some people have reported that their HD 7850 did not work, according to a list on the AmigaOS4 video card driver author's website.
Only 2 cards are listed on the site with one working and the other not so yours might also work.

Your comment about not being able to notice any difference between your original HD 5450, and the newer R9 video card you installed is interesting. It makes me wonder if having these improved video card drivers so that new, or nearly new video cards can be used on the X1000, SAM460 and X5000 AmigaOne computers is that important.
The newer cards definitely offer better performance on hardware capable of using them.
HD5450 vs R9 270X on the X1000.
HD7800 vs RX Polaris10 on X5000/20.
Even on a Sam440 733Mhz swapping out a 9250 for an HD6450 can make a huge difference despite both being at the lowest end of their respective ranges.
It's a pity there aren't BIOS updates for the Sam440, Peg 2 and AmigONE XE to support at least Southern Islands cards so they could also run Warp3D Nova software and have access to hardware video decoding when Enhancer 2 is released. Sadly it looks like they will eventually get left behind.
