Generally, I agree with your summary.
But rather than assume the quality of forum topics is slipping, I simply assumed that it was my perspective that was changing.
I am a mean, grumpy, antisocial asshole. And that's on my good days.
I recognize that all the "diverse opinions" are individual users who all care somehow about the future of the (Amiga, OS4, MorphOS, AROS, A500Mini, Vampire, insert your favorite here). And it's truly wonderful to have so many who care so much.
But all those strong opinions make for TERRIBLE conversational skills. so the few who aren't put off seem to be those who just like to piss other people off. And I am too mean, grumpy and antisocial to deal with the pot-stirrers.
I was all-in on the Amiga LONG before the internet became popular. When this place looks like a dumping ground for bad ideas, I just go offline. Sometimes for months.. sometimes for LOTS of months at a time.
I still enjoy my Amigas, and anyone who needs to reach me can probably figure out a way.
This being my second comment tonight, Y'all have a lovely day now, and I'll check back in a few more months or so.

| I want to say for clarification, it was just the trolling / attacking users that I dont like to see, I get it will always be here, but when it started slipping into dedicated thread / topics to discuss, then that is where I feel we should try and draw the line.
the topics I point out in post 1 where all on the front page pushing out more related Amiga topics.
So to all the users who are on here and are reading this, you must have some interest in Amiga, let try and be a bit more respectful of one another points of views, basically try and do better that's all I want to see happen. Cheers.

Umm,... exactly how did you miss the fact the "Qbit. Trolling Us, or Just an Idoit" forum was also a check to see if there's any moderation left on the site? It flat out says that it's the intention.
So to "fix" the problem you thought you'd repeat it, only without the tongue in check flavor of that thread?
You've just proved your point; the quality is indeed slipping. |
Maybe it because of the title of the topic, I didn't even bother reading the post, I just thought it was part of the problem and not a topic i was interested in reading, so sorry. _________________ AmigaNG, YouTube, LeaveReality Studio |
