He's tried the game again HERE!
It definitely isn't the latest version of you Mod though! I did give him the link for it. At least he got it up to 20FPS on a 105MHz 060 on AGA! _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

We need to showcase the texture improvements since this point! A before and after video would be great IMHO!

It's not because of your game, it's how he has done some reviews on vampire, try as he might he always get the games which had problems running on it... I mean, there's about thousands of games but he got by sheer luck the games that didn't work. I want to believe that most of them do run without problems. If he is demoing the game he should give it a chance. He is also deleting my comments to explain what you and pipper have achieved to obtain some balance. I'll post it here instead:
Quote:
Well done on getting 20FPS out of it on an overclocked 060 on AGA! Considering the unfinished state this game was released in in 1996 this is a mini miracle that amateur coders have made sense of the source code (a spaghetti mess of unreferenced code initially - well done pipper off EAB who got it into a buildable state) and got to this point! It's a shame that you didn't download the latest version off Github as the new textures really add to the atmosphere and story. Karlos is amending some of the level structure throughout and the new textures/tiles emphasising human vs alien structures really aid the storytelling. It really is a real labour of love from the Amiga community and I would encourage viewers to try the incremental updates themselves! https://github.com/0xABADCAFE/karlos-tkg/ Click on CODE > Download Zip. |

I don't think he's deleting your comment, from my experience, everytime I put a link on my comments they aren't post. It might be it _________________ Indigo 3D Lounge, my second home. The Illusion of Choice | Am*ga |

No tried it again with just advice on how to find it and...gone! He's definitely moderating it. I think he just wanted to prove he could open the door! _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

Maybe he doesn't like games that make his expensive 060 kit look underpowered.
It's ironic, I used to build play on a 25MHz Apollo 1240 (later, BlizzPPC but with equivalent 040). Always at 2/3 size, of course and on the original team17 engine plus the turbo patch.
He's getting 17fps fullscreen 1x1. I don't know what he's moaning about
Luxury. When I was a lad, we used to have to draw the frames ourselves, by hand in a candle lit corner of an old septic tank. Right after a breakfast of cold gravel. Last edited by Karlos on 01-Dec-2023 at 09:18 AM.

I hate to think what he thought of AB3D despite it being a well thought out game! 2x2 pixels put off a lot of people. Loved the sound design though, far more scary than Doom except the Archvile = terrifying! _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." I never understood the comparison between AB3D and Doom. It's like comparing mario to zool, you know, 'cause they are both platformers.
Doom is a run and gun ego shooter. You are insanely powerful, I mean what other FPS games are there where you can outrun your own rockets?
AB3D is much more survival horror. _________________ Doing stupid things for fun... |

| Having said that, pipper did make a doom 2 mod for TKG. It shows quite a lot of promise, but it's very odd because the levels are still basically the original ones, reskinned.

| I commented on his video. We'll see if he removes it.
I basically told him if he's going to condemn something as terrible, at least use an up to date version and not an unfinished change from 1997. _________________ Doing stupid things for fun... |

...well at least he didn't delete you! Lost cause it seems! Already made his mind up as to what constitutes an Amiga game! He can't understand the concept of an Amiga RTG game either! I mean he doesn't even play Turrican 2 AGA despite its release this year! He doesn't seem to get excited about progress in the community only compatibility and nostalgia! _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." We has actually left my current reply up. I know he doesn't agree and wants to use exotic 68k hardware to play 1 disk OCS games. More power to him.
My quote from YouTube Quote:
You're going to ridicule me but I recently sold my 030/50 Blizzard because the PiStorm32 works so well and allows me to try games/programs that demanded hardware that was too expensive/unavailable when the wheels came off for Commodore! You can play the new version of Turrican 2 (AGA) on THEA500 Mini just fine. Two-player null modem play for AB3D2 Karlos-TKG mod requires two fast Amigas, preferably with RTG! We have the power! |

He is interested in some things outside of nostalgia and would review Metro Siege if a copy lands on his door mat! Influencers hey?!? I guess they gave him a Warp 1260 for free to advertise. _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |
