@Trekiej

I really don't understand all the crazy answers. People are just trying to make things more difficult than they need to be.

Why don't we just create a new CPU from scratch that does everything every Amiga person might want.
Make it Big and Little endian, compatible with 68K, X86, PPC, and ARM architectures, along with the ability to add more architecture support by configuration files.
Make sure it supports every kind of RAM that's been available for the past 40 years, along with builtin support for SCSI, SCSI2, Fast-ATA, SATA, and the new little flash-thingie boards.

Of course a serial port for the older modems, as well as support for 10, 100, gigabit, and 10 gig ethernet. a direct port for optical fiber would be nice. Can we also get support for StarLink on the motherboard, without one of those annoying dishes too?

Video output for Hercules, CGA, MDA, VGA, SVGA, HDMI, and DisplayPort. We should also support Composite, Component, and PAL also. (Need to please everybody, right?)

Once the new CPU is being prototyped, then we can all group-fund a little money to get the OS and every application ever written ported over right away.
Then someone can manage a project to port all the fish disks to the new chip too.

And of course, it ALL has to be open sourced, and freely available to everyone who wants to change it to work they way they want it to. Because we ALL know what's best for the Amiga, and every one of us is always right.

Seems pretty simple to me.

@cdimauro

The whole quote was:
Quote:

the only Apollo core with actual chipset (severely limited and broken AGA) for Vampire V2 cannot do any RTG (known as the "gold 3 beta" core).

And this is true.

Do you understand the difference between the apollo core 2.x and an old beta of a so called "gold 3" that never made it beyond beta, and that ONLY had borken AGA-ish features and NO RTG?

No?

Aside from this beta, there is no "3.x" for V2, stop making things up.

Ported over? Your proposed CPU is compatible with everything (that matters), so with the right OS there'd be no need to port anything.

Nope, only I know what's best for the Amiga. The rest o' y'all are varying degrees of wrong on any given occasion.

Q: Which CPU for a future 'Amiga'?
A: RapidIO

And this is true.

Then the whole discussion / context was this:

ME: The Vampire, which has the most powerful Amiga chipset + RTG implementation
YOU: FullHD 1280x720 256 colour RTG chunky mode, or native AGA 8bit planar mode? I speak of the latter.
ME: I spoke of the former.

So, context was RTG. And what I've said is True.

Understand. And? You, AGAIN, moved the context from the original one to AGA. But I've replied, anyway.

Beta or not, it's available.

And since you continuously move the context I've to remind you that my original claim was about Vampire (see above my quote). So, NOT (only) V2.

Let's see when you finish moving the context and stick to the original statements. Which is getting ridiculous with your battle against Gunnar (and more ridiculous is that I'm the one that has to "defend" him. ARGH!!!).
