Had a look at all the new posts on the Facebook-page of the announcement today. Earlier reported prices has been confirmed after what I can read.

As for pricing, the distributor of the system, Laurent / Amedia Computers, confirms:

"Should a little more than a full SAM460LE Slim configuration as you can see it on our webshop (VAT included in prices on our webshop)

https://www.amedia-computer.com/en/accueil/349-complete-configuration-slim-sam460le.html"

So above 1,269 EUR for a complete system.

When asked about the price of the motherboard, they respond:

"(...) not completely defined for the moment and depends on your location (with or without VAT for example)"

Maybe Dan will go back to it when he's finished working on Souverän Soccer.

Honestly, by this stage and at this price....why even bother!?

Some already wrote that they are no longer interested in A1222 because they use now 68k hardware and have much more fun.

At a high price there are certainly only few interested, propably some collectors and users with aging AmigaOS hardware who want to replace it

After using NG (MorphOS) for 20 years, I have zero interest to go back to 68k, but I would have had some interest to get an affordable OS4 machine for a secondary NG OS, because emulation options still suck. But if it's going to be closer to 1000e than 500e, I'm probably going to pass it yet again... too bad, because I'd really like to test my software on a real thing rather than a crippled emulator.

If you'd like any of your software tested on an A1222, just let me know. I've already tested most of your available AOS4 software on it. You can always see the status of any tool I've tested here:

By the way I *love* RNOTunes. It is a fantastic music organizer!

Sounds like A1222+ will beat Amico to market after all.

68k need additional expensive hardware to display graphics on decent tv/monitors.
graphics form 68k is highly processed.
games from Amiga 500 looks like shit on decent tv/monitors.
no suprise today tv/monitors works different than tv/monitors forty years ago when Amiga chipset was designed.
there is no fun in 68k games on 68k hardware on decent tv/monitors.
So I return to ppc.

A1222 I will buy one. Why not. It is real thing. It is not pc. It is not emulator like pistorm.
it will be cheaper and faster than 68k with full 68060 with MMU, FPU.

Reminder, A1222 Plus's PPC e500v2 CPU emulates FPU for PPC and 68K (~68060 level). PPC e500v2 FPU is not compatible with PPC FPU.

From Macbench 4.0, A1200's PiStorm32 Lite with RPi 4B's ARM Cortex A72 integer units @ 1.5Ghz can emulate 68K FPU at more than 38% faster than PowerPC 601 @ 60Mhz while ARM Cortex A72 FPU @ 1.5Ghz emulating 68K FPU is 632% faster than PowerPC 601 @ 60Mhz.
Roughly equivalent to Pentium III scalar FPU at 750Mhz. Quake demo3 320x200 RTG benchmark shows Pentium III 650 Mhz-like performance.
The Quake engine needs FPU power.

ARM Cortex A72 can issue three instructions per cycle with out-of-order processing.

PPC e500v2 can issue two instructions per cycle with out-of-order processing.

Here is a video of DevilutionX 1.4.1 running on Sam460.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsOKIB95UHM&t=60s
The game is around 23-25 fps in fullscreen 1280x720 resolution
Compile DevilutionX 1.4.1 for AmigaOS + SDL1.2

From https://www.amigans.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=133891#forumpost133891

A1200's PiStorm32 Lite with RPi 4B's ARM Cortex A72 @ stock 1.5 Ghz has similar frame rate results when running 68K DevilutionX 1.4.0 at 1280x720p. I haven't tested 2.2 GHz overclock.

There is support for 3D games, it's just that some don't work yet for one reason or another. Remember that my lists are based on the situation now. Things may be different when the system ships. Give the developers a little time. You can always see the state of things on my Guide, specifically:

http://eliyahu.org/tabor/games.html

From https://www.nxp.com/products/processors-and-microcontrollers/power-architecture/qoriq-communication-processors/p-series/qoriq-p1022-and-p1013-dual-and-single-core-communications-processors:P1022

NXP QorIQ P1022/13 shows "e500-v2" CPU cores while your diagram shows e500 CPUs.

Can you run Femu on the PPC's emulated 68K?

e500v2 has a double-precision embedded scalar floating point hardware which is not compatible with PPC FPU.

For general-purpose computing, e500v2's dual instruction issue out-of-order is better than PPE's dual instruction issue in-order design on Xbox 360 or PS3.

2013-era AMD Jaguar CPU has dual instruction issues out-of-order with the fused instruction set.

Where's Wing Remastered?

Has nothing to do with this.

Of course it does! PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS!

AmigaOS in and of itself is NOT a killer app!

IT'S THE SOFTWARE STUPID!

You need both Tower57 AND Wings Remastered bundled with this thing as a minimum so there are at least 2 quality games for people to try as a starter!

Spencer doesn't cut it sadly and BOH and other NG Amiga games are quite niche and an acquired taste IMHO!

@jPV

We need to find a way to get you developers some hardware to work on, as it benefits us all. Of course we can all start by buying software and donating money to the developers that continue to support us.

And I agree, once I started using OS4.1 even in emulation afew years ago, 68K, real or emulated just didn't excite me as much and I didn't want to use 68K regularly. I am all for the continued support of original machines and OS3. I don't see them as competition, just another way to enjoy computing and Amigas. But AOS, MorphOS, and Aros are the only ones that are going to be really useful to most of us on a daily basis, where so much more power is required.

@BigD

It was one developer contacting a company Cinemaware,
he did the work, but something went wrong.

It has nothing to do with Hyperion, AEON, and so on.

So often we talk about everything did not go right, not stuff that did go right.

if you are looking for games that work on AmigaOS4.1, have a look at all the games from HunoPPC

Games that will appeal to people outside of a very narrow niche of AmigaOne fanatics with bust or old Eyetech machines, include Tower57 and Wings Remastered for sure! I really struggle to get interested in much else! On the Classic side there's loads of development but even something 99% complete on NG Amiga seems to fall at the final hurdle!

JUST BECAUSE IT'S NOTHING TO DO WITH A-EON, AAA, ACube etc DOESN'T MEAN THESE THINGS AREN'T IMPORTANT! COMMODORE LICENSED SOFTWARE TO BUNDLE WITH HARDWARE AND SO COULD THE A1222 Plus TEAM! HECK IT WOULD PROVIDE A GOOD BOOST AND PARTLY JUSTIFY THE INFLATION/DELAY/REDESIGN CAUSED MASSIVE INCREASE IN PRICE IMHO!

@NutsAboutAmiga

If the girl in the video reminds you of me then I'd like to clarify that i've no problem leaving the A1222 Plus on the shelf because....
.... IT'S ABOUT THE SOFTWARE STUPID!!!

Cool as a 3D maze version of Pacman would be for all of 5 minutes, I think I'll stick to games like TinyBobble and Pacman500 on the Classic if I want to play that genre thank you!

If your comment is about not letting go of Wings Remastered (it's not clear), then I'll answer that no I haven't let go because it hasn't been cancelled! It's another...
...."When it's done!"

...AmigaNG disaster! Every peice of new hardware needs software and the AmigaOS 4.x games on the website that you suggested do not replace this high profile fun title that SHOULD have come to AmigaOne machines by now! Both Tower57 AND Wings Remastered have been heavily modified to make the most of the gimped FPU on the A1222 Plus. To lose one of these 'special' A1222 Plus supported titles is to put it mildly, disappointing!

Great the A1222 Plus will be available soon but it's got one less game on it that considering the delays to the A1222 Plus SHOULD have been ported by now!! That is all!

No software bundle, no announcement of a fancy case and a new inflated price! What's not to love hey?

As my signature implies, I've been waiting for a long time to get Amiga hardware. I have made good use of WinUAE for the Amiga Art Contest for the past three years. Yet, even with all of the speed I can squeeze out of it, WinUAE is not an adequate substitute. I was hoping for a low cost, entry level NG Amiga. While the A1222 may fit the "entry level" bill, it no longer is low cost. In addition, being an art, animation, and image processing guy, I am disturbed by the problems with things like 3D software, anything using ffmpeg, etc. Even if they did work fine (Eliyahu now says Cinema4D works ok), they are still hindered by FPU emulation. The compatibility issues would have to be solved before I would even consider this system.

The main reason I sold my SAM460 back in 2015 was the inability to play back DVDs, or watch Youtube videos over the net. I could play them, but the video and audio did not match, and the framerate was low. With the ability to use graphics card GPUs, that is now a non-issue.

I really am torn what to do at this point. What currently captures my interest is the Amiga Custom Chip replacement project and Buffee that Nonarkitten and Kipper2k are developing. However, that may be a few more years in the waiting. Will I really be interested in going back to a 68k based machine in a few years? Will the Buffee catch up in speed with PPC performance? ARM performance (will 3.2 be ported to ARM on Buffee)?

will the world end soon? Do you really think there is any chance that amigos is ported to ARM? If you want a new hardware running amigaos there is A1222 best option or a SAM if a new batch is produced
