Aliens vs Predator alignment error

I'm trying to run Huno's port of AvP (MiniGL version) on Pegasos 2 (1 GB RAM, Radeon 9250 128 MB). If I select Alien, intro plays and I have to press any key to start the game - then Grim Reaper appears with alignment error on 0x7ed240f0. Marine campaign seems to start fine. I'm using AvP 2000 release from GoG.

Any solution to this issue? Playing humans is so boring.

@pavlor

There is no such string "alignment error" in AmigaOS. Is it a translation?

Have you contacted Huno?

@tonyw

Grim Reaper says (now in English):

Guru Meditation: 80000003
Task0x664bac70 ("avp")
generated an error of type alignment
on address 0x7ed750f0
Redzone was not damaged
Stackpointer is inside bounds

Upper part of the crash log:
Crash log for task "avp"
Generated by GrimReaper 53.19
Crash occured in module avp at address 0x7ED750F0
Type of crash: alignment exception
Alert number: 0x80000003

Should I send such crash log to Huno? I mean, is it sufficient, or some other level of output is needed?

Edit: What is the best way to contact Huno? I can't find any contact info on his page (other than forum).

@pavlor

I know he reads Amigans, but I think he is mostly on french forums.

0x7ED750F0 manes nothing it was this free memory addresses that the game got when it loaded. Think of it as page 100 in your encyclopedia, without opening the book and look at page you won’t know whats on that page.

Of cause the address 0x7ED750F0, means nothing without instruction that triggered the exception at that memory address and the register values.

I know Alitvec has requirement of 128bit alignment to work.
most powerpc processors will happy except misalignment, but just run slower,
but AMCC CPU that were designed for embedded use, might be pickier.

So be interesting to know what CPU you have.

AlitVec while can give major speed is almost never used, because require hand optimization and special code, can only be truly used in places where you can unroll loops. It focuses on integer operations

SPE focuses on float, it might have been a good idea if it was an addition to the normal FPU, instead a replacement for it.

Any why, a lot work is being pushed to the GPU these days.

@tonyw

Of course there are alignment errors. Try doing a misaligned floating point access on a 604, for example, the CPU will raise an exception. If for some reason an appropriate handler isn't installed by the OS then you get an alignment error.
