| Still trying to get up to speed with all the "features" of my µA1
I tried to play the sound files found in the pref/presets/sounds drawer and was presented with a requester "Unable to open your tool 'Worbenech:Utilities/Songplayer/songplayer'
Obviously I don't have Song Player installed on my system. I checked the Pre-Release disks but was unable to find the program. I checked OS4.0 Depot and it's not listed there although there are a number of version on Aminet.
A couple of questions I hope someone can help with.
1. Is songplayer compatable with OS4.0 and if so which version?
2. Is there a better player that other members would recommend?
Thanks for you help.

The latest version of songplayer works fine here, but I tend to use latest version of AmigaAMP for music. _________________ A1XE G4 800mhz,512mb,Radeon9200,SonyDRU-510A and 800a,ESI Juli@, Sil680, WiFi. |

mhhhh . . . take a look at the homepage
EDIT- "seems" that at least one of the 2 developers (Mathias PARNAUDEAU), is "open" to an AOS4 port, the other . . . much, much less

Try AmiNetRadio it has both the quality and eye candy. It also plays shoutcast streams and has built-in shoutsearch making it easier than ever to find what you want to listen to.
The only downsides I can see are that changing skins under OS4 brings up the grim reaper although clicking continue will see you through. The other is that it will probably never be OS4 native. |

i already use ANR for shoutcast and its a fantastic app.
About the mere quality/stability and for the built-in CDDA player, SongPlayer is still the best IMHO

| Songplayer is great for not being a resource hog. I use WinUAE on my laptop with OS 3.9 and Amplifier that comes with it really seems to suck cpu time whereas Songplayer just works. I'll take "just works" over winamp 2.x look anyday... |
