Troika's Amy '05 will be out sooner than later so I would prepare your case for that. As far as anyone knows, there will not be any A1's available again, but other solutions are being researched. The Amy board is the closest to completion so if you were a betting man, put all your chips on Amy. |
LOL, these old posts are priceless.

Well if you wanted to be really pedantic about it, new "Amiga" hardware has been released in the form of the MiniMig And we also have the NatAmi on the road to having a release eventually (maybe by Christmas - can't say which year though, but definitely by a Christmas )
If we are talking about new official hardware, then the answer to that would be a resounding "highly unlikely in my lifetime"._________________ Test sig (new) |

So sad, this current situation for both OS4 and MorphOS,

And it's also sad we only need to switch to x86 to definitely put this stupid shortage problem being... and concentrate on the only thing that matters: software, not hardware..._________________ http://www.warpdesign.fr/ |

x86/PowerPC is nothing to do with the amount of computers to run AmigaOS. There's loads of PPC computers out there that don't run AmigaOS - if we went x86 we'd just have loads of X86 computers that don't run AmigaOS instead. This has been covered ad nauseam in other threads. |

| I had decided to give up for good...but I just couldn't resist coming back here and reviving (once again) this old thread. ;)
I'll comb the forum and see what's up. I assume that there is still nothing available for purchase? |

You are assuming badly : there is Sam440ep that is available for purchase with AmigaOS 4.1.
Bye bye.
EDIT: seems Trevor was quicker than me here I'll just add that reading the few last news and topics might have been quicker than digging and bumping this old thread to have you answer Last edited by abalaban on 28-Oct-2008 at 11:19 AM.

Yeah, Amigakit is pretty good. You can search some threads and you'll probably find hundreds of positives about them. The owner also posts here all the time.
Link to Sam440 at Amigakit.com
Lots of people have Sam440s now, you can find some videos around here of OS4.1 running on Sam and it pretty cool. There is also an IRC channel setup for Sam440 as well on irc.amigaworld.net ( join #Sam) so you can ask some questions there too.
Good luck! _________________ A3000D (16mhz, 2MB Chip, 4MB Fast, SCSI (300+MB), SuperGen Genlock, Kick 3.1) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back in my day, we didn't have water. We only had Oxygen & Hydrogen, & we'd just shove 'em together |

Sounds like you missed most of the BS from the last year. Or so. Great for you.
I'll be getting a Sam440 as soon as I can find a US distributor also. Hopefully by Christmas ? Anyone ?
I'll use Sam440 as media player and Browser mostly, at first. Sounds like both apps are coming along nicely. Now that h/w and users will increase the Great Amiga devs will come back I think.
Good to have you back.

I don't see why you need to wait for a US distributor.
AmigaKit has set things up especially for US customers: TOLL FREE ORDER LINE (US) 888-698-6758
CUSTOMER SERVICES (US) 360-226-6698 TECHNICAL SUPPORT (US) 360-717-2799
FAX (US) 208-575-3903
Give them a call and discuss the possibilities. There really is no need to continue waiting and waiting and waiting when you don't have to._________________ ExecSG Team Lead |

Since you're looking also at the (hopefully near) future, here's an additional thing for you to consider: the Sam460ex will be available shortly._________________ RETREAM - retro dreams for Amiga, Commodore 64 and PC |
