Hi all,

I ported SongPlayer to OS4 and I recently applied minor changes. Deeper improvements could be made and all tasks stored in the bugtracker will help to clarify choices and priorities. I have my ideas but don't know what users would like to see in SongPlayer that needs to be modernized keeping its appreciated features.

If you want to suggest ideas, I will register them. That will help to organized future steps.

For the moment, the native executable is available here

Enjoy !

@corto

Nice! Songplayer always used to be my player of choice on my A1200 with PowerPC card - think I'll give this a try.

Nice one, used this a lot on the old classic.
Nice to try it out again.

Cool! I used this program so much on my A1200, it's great to have it in native
form again.

As a suggestion how about CD online database support (CDDB) for CD's?

Cheers,
Bean.

I've always liked SongPlayer because I was able to adjust the treble & bass. I gave it a try & one thing that I could no longer do was change the song being played with the keyboard up/down arrow keys. I also found 1 mp3 that this new version will not load into the playlist, but would with the older version (1.53).

Cheers

Thanks everybody Nice to see that SongPlayer is still popular !

@Bean : CDDB is planned and registered in the bug tracker. If people asks, it could be done with a higher priority even if I would like to make deep changes internally about MUI and AHI management.

@sundown : Keys and events handling have to be chnaged, so I hope it will answer your need.
If some files are not played, you should send it to me (the email address is given in the readme).

Great to see it still being worked on! I tried the OS4 version and it works fine!

I'd love it if the GUI could be made a bit more compact (e.g. if the window could be sized smaller as it's taking up too much space horizontally on my 1024x768 screen). A skinnable GUI (similar to AmigaAmp, but keeping the SongPlayer layout) would also kick ass.

Great to see this brilliant player being still updated. I use it everyday on MOS. Only minus I know is playlists do not work. Is this a general 1.62 prob or is something messed up with my installation?

SongPlayer was my favorite MP3 player on my A1200 too. I look forward to trying it the next time I boot OS4 (I'm in Linux now).

Anybody care to port SampleE?
