I'm looking to buy an Amiga with round about the following

Commodore 1200 or Escom with floppy modification done
CD-ROM (internal or external)
hard disk drive - 1GBish
68030 accelerator card with 8MB,
Kickstart 3.1

only problem is that my hands are virtualy useles (muscle disorder not too much Body Blows) so putting it together myself is impossible, meaning it will need to be done already.

Any idea where to look?

@Drathro

I think AmigaKit will build to order.
Other than that, keep an eye on ebay..

I may have something for sale depending the price off course.
It is a Commodore A1200 with a blizzard 1230 MK3 with 32 Mb(max) 68030 on 50 MHZ.
It has a internal cdrom which is opening to the leftside.
Pcmcia port is still accessible..using a 3com ethernetcard with it now.
Harddisk is around 4 GB and is placed in the middle in a homemade bracket.
Cdrom is powered with a modified pc psu which is white sprayed and has a modified cable which splits in the end into a seperate plug for the cdrom and a normal powerplug.
The powerplug is situated on the left under the cdrom in the 1200.
There are some pictures on amiga.org in the photoalbum (amiga4001).
Also same ebay name for checking trustness.
Can send you some photo's on email if required.
But situated in the Netherlands so postage pricey I think.

@Drathro

Im sure that some of the users groups there in England (that is your location correct?) can help you outfit an A1200 to your liking. I'd try to contact a member and then after meeting with them look on Ebay and buy the items. Cheers and good luck. If you were in the US I'd be happy to help you out on it. I think i do have some CD-ROMS and other stuff sitting around I can give you for free, but u'll have to cover the Shipping.

@Drathro

If you have to buy the items seperately, if you ship it to myself I can build it up for you if needed, pre-install it as per your requiements. I won't charge you, only the cost of shipping the completed system to you.

Incidentally, I have the basic A1200 on ebay right now:

My most recently built system:

If you do need anything, please PM me.

I am sure Drathro won't mind me posting the images of me building up the A1200, as I think it is useful to others to see how to do the internal CD thing:

Any suggestions/comments, please let me know.

Well this is my result:

http://freespace.virgin.net/a1200.68030/

The CD drive is not flush with the case as I found there could be issues with the drive catching the case and mainly because there really isn't room to push the CD Drive back any further - I cut away as much as I was prepared.

Also note I didn't have any tools to cut the case properly so I used a junior hacksaw and sanded it down with some wet 'n' dry. It did not make too much odds because I used silicone to hold the device in place and it also made good the opening.

The OS 3.9 install was very fast. Files copied incredibly quickly considering there is no buffered IDE interface.

I will now pack the Amiga away nicely and await postage instructions from Drathro. Hopefully he will be pleased with it.

I am taking a rest from Amiga now so I will be on here very rarely and posting even less. Nothing personal, I am just bored I suppose and have lots of work on at LRG Software etc. Good luck to all who stick with Amiga, I am happy to retain the label "Amigan" and would certainly consider appearing at a show such as Big Bash, just to meet up again with the people who I have become friends with since joining the community. But as for having any involvement commercially or otherwise with any Amiga venture - "I'm out".

I feel the same way (I lost a lot due to Amigainc's business practices), but I'm looking into things like Natami and AROS..
