| I've just released an Epistula beta of version 52.11 which is now available for download through the 'Bug Tracker' section of my website. Note that this is for registered users only.
Reason for the beta release is I need some more time to figure out the MSN transfers and will pretty soon require a few people to test the transfers for me. I'll be in touch regarding that very soon so if you're up for it please let me know.
If you want to beta test this version please try and report as many bugs as you can via the 'Submit Bug' page on the website. That way I can track and address them all more accurately.
You may need to install updates of libraries and/or MCC's by hand so there may be a bit of prep work to complete before it all starts to work.
As usual, all information is available at my AmigaOS4 Projects website.
Have fun! Daniel _________________ This fire is burnin' and it's out of control It's not a problem you can stop, It's rock n' roll - GN'F'N'R |

My apologies, I forgot that I had ported CompactWindow and TearOffBay to OS4 and didn't include them in the archive.
Please download the 28/06/07 archive from the beta section of the website again.

No, this version was mearly to re-write parts of Epistula to be more OS4-centric and to add a few new features.
To test these features I completely rewrote the MSN plugin so that's what's available here first.
ICQ/AIM will follow when I've finished the file transfer functionality.
@Swoop
You're too kind Thanks. I'll get your keyfile processed right away which should allow you to login and download.
Please report bugs via the bug tracker section of the website.
Thanks.Last edited by Slash on 28-Jun-2007 at 12:11 PM.

I thought I was specific enough:

| It complained no tearoffpanel.mcc so i installed the full tearoff 68k version and ofcourse put your os4 native version of Tearoffbay over it.
I run it first time and i could chat ok with my msn friends. So i asked a friend to send me a file but nothing happened. I run the nondebug version. Epistula just freeze. I reboot and start the debug version. My friend sent a file again (this time without a freeze) but epistula doesnt ask me anything of file offering. My friend says i have to accept it but i cant as no requester comes up. So i try to send file but nothing happens. So i believe it last sending files dont work yet ? I then tried to quit epistula but it just freezed. The good thing its not freezing my whole system like in the early versions ;)
So i dont send anything to bugtracker yet as i dont know really what works and what not. I have a sashimi that is 19kb big. What should i do next ? Do send to bugtracker ?
EDIT: Stupid me. It says on the top that you havent done the filedirect yet and need some more time. hehe. Sorry
Should we rename nbitmap.mcc.debug to nbitmap.mcc ? so you can see more data ?

It's not finished yet my friend, which is why I'm releasing this as a beta and not a finished version. I'm some what stuck with file transfers here at home due to using the same IP address on the router for my PC and Amiga and needing to use port forwarding on the router to one or the other.
My previous attempt at transfer used a different protocol, this new one is more up to date and that's the one I'm going to spend most of my time on.
So please for now, don't use the file transfer until I release the next beta which should fix a few things. If you're willing to help me try it out, add me to your contacts list and I'll IM you when I need something tested.
Regarding the log file, please send it to my usual address and I'll take a look but more than likely it'll be due to unfinished file transfers.

If you want, it won't hurt but it will only provide more information if you're getting crashes from NBitmap.mcc so if you're not I would just leave it.Last edited by Slash on 28-Jun-2007 at 03:59 PM.

It is a pity that there is no information available for potential future users who consider registration. I thought that beta files of new version are for registered users and "more information" is available for everybody else. From your point of view it seems that even information is for registered Last edited by mailman on 28-Jun-2007 at 05:14 PM. Last edited by mailman on 28-Jun-2007 at 05:13 PM.

That information will come in July when I've got the bugs ironed out. That's also the reason I didn't submit this as a news item, it's not ready yet. Be assured that when it is ready, all the information you want will be available.
What more information are you after by the way? It's an Instant Messenger client... which supports multiple protocol plugins and will be supplied with an MSN plugin when fully released to the public.
Not a lot more to say to be honest, other than please be patient. _________________ This fire is burnin' and it's out of control It's not a problem you can stop, It's rock n' roll - GN'F'N'R |

Ok I've found a few problems. The same old thing that I've allways had a problem with is that Epistula stops responding when chating... I think I sent 5 messages (received four) before it happend.
Pressing "Send file" does nothing.
When I press the "Add contact" or anything that brings up that window and I try to resize it it freezes, can't even move the mouse pointer.
Besides, I got nothing much to do so maybe I can help a little if you want? |

| @Slash hi there
Thanks for this update, but for some strange reason it will not run..
I think i have installed it correctly, but it still says it couldn't open required MUI custuom class "compactwindow.mcc" v. 15.
However, i have copied the compactwindow.mcc to SYS:MUI/Libs/mui/.
Could there be anything else i'm missing ?

Sorry, I should have explained better but you need to install the whole 68k MUI CompactWindow and TearOff classes first. Then install my PPC versions over the top of them.
@hotrod
I've found your bug that kept freezing the whole of Epistula. I'll have a fixed version tonight. _________________ This fire is burnin' and it's out of control It's not a problem you can stop, It's rock n' roll - GN'F'N'R |

Thanks! But there is a major bug in there that hotrod has pointed me to and if you haven't come across it yet then it's just blind luck
@hotrod
Maybe I'll not get a fixed version out tonight, found some more issues but I'll have one tomorrow. _________________ This fire is burnin' and it's out of control It's not a problem you can stop, It's rock n' roll - GN'F'N'R |
