@jaseinblack

To get cheaper than passive busboard system?

But it's not that because the picture has a motherboard attachment screw holes on the board.

Surely you mean "Eye"

After all, who did the original series of AmigaOne Boards? Court Case is over, this could all fit, or does it?

I guess it is a new computer platform that is backward compatible with some Amiga technologies..

Time for a new beginning as it is stated on teaser web page

After a quarter of a century, is Amiga on the brink of a new age ?

Again pure sensationalism.....hopefully with a reason this time... ;)

Hmm.. Ben Hermans is a lawyer and a PS3/Cell advocate. Anthony Moorley and Trevor Dickinson has worked in the oil industry from 1989 - 2004.

Sorry for being pesimistic, but I'm kind of sceptical about what kind of hardware they will come up with. Will it be better than SAM? Probably. Will it be competitive with x64/x86 or ARM hardware? Probably not. But I hope I'll be pleasantly surprised...

I am hoping Hyperion gets a few ideas from Apple, and does a fullblown Hardware/Software approach/relaunch.

These days desktops or nerdy mainboards-only won't bring you new customers, and that's what the Amigascene really needs.

And it's those casual people, who you can convice most easily to switch systems, because the most they would ever need is a working webbrowser (in that case that would be Timberwolf). Well, most of them.. And with more casuals, you will get more developers working on stuff for them to use.

I really hope MAP is some incredibly stylish 15 Inch Laptop (hell, make that a full line (12, 15,17 inch) and a netbook as well ) with the Amigabrandname slapped on it, along a new AMIGA OS with SMP/Memory Protection and a funky new Workbench design.

Anyway, great job with all of this suspense, guys... Looking forward to hear, what you have in store in the future.

At first I was very interested in this. Then I read that Ben Hermans is involved. Now, you people state that there's chance that Eyetech is also on board?

If there's something that removed me from Amiga camp it was Ben's postings to ANN and Eyetech "awesome hardware and warranty".

I'm skeptical (helthy skeptical, I'm all for being surprised and ashamed by my lack of confidence) but I'm going to keep my eye on future developments.

Anyway, this guessing game is quite nice, I hope it won't take forever.

@KimmoK
I also took note of ICaros licensing from Hyperion... But if OS4 is going X86 (AMD or Intel) would it make any sense to make custom hardware?

I very much doubt we'll be seeing anything of Eyetech again.

Have you figured "i"t out yet?

Well, I for one hope that this is new & AFFORDABLE hardware.

There are probably thousands of people (myself, one of them) looking to get back into the Amiga scene, but the price has to be right, because I just can't justify the SAM to 'er indoors.

Frank.
