@TrevorD

You know just like the A1000 team you've gotta sign the inside of the X1000 case.
Even Jay Miner's dog Mitchy has his paw print in the A1000.

for PA6T speculation:
http://markstechchat.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

That guy thinks that PA6T will strike back, kind of.
Grazy, perhaps. Wishfull thinking, sure.

IIRC, "guite a story, actually" said a-eon and then silence....

Waiting for more info is sometimes painfull.

>Waiting for more info is sometimes painfull

its always very bad, to have such secrets.most people dislike that.
it show when somebody have a secret the other guy is not worth telling whats the secret.

currently i think because there is stil not known if the X1000 CPU have Altivec or not, it have no altivec so the PA6 is out of my mind now.

Maybe its really a Titan 1,5 GHZ or little more, but a Titan is no High end.teh dmpips are same as the 440epCPU so i think the performance /MHZ is same as this.and because of no altivec a G4 with 1 GHZ can better play videos i think.I dont believe much that there is a real powerful PPC High End CPU.

Because when X1000 CPU have this important Altivec feature, i guess that was tell after such a long wait, because it can tell eben if its a secret CPU if it have altivec or not

a spellword for having secrets but dont tell them is in german "Auf die Folter spannen"

http://dict.leo.org/ende?lp=ende&lang=de&searchLoc=0&cmpType=relaxed§Hdr=on&spellToler=on&search=auf%2BFolter%2Bspannen&relink=on

http://www.dict.cc/deutsch-englisch/Folter.html

"Folter" is a very bad word and so can see its bad method to announce secrets and dont want tell for longer time.

@bernd_afa

The CPU secret is interesting. I have gone through those embedded PPC information sources (weekly) that I have and so far only PA6T match with the given data. But perhaps there also is some mistake in the given data (mainly the PCI x16).

And neither do I like announcements about secrets. etc.

btw. I thought the better a-eon site was going to go live during this week (again). (after AF is out ... I get mine after the postmen have read it first)

@bernd_afa

But it seems they don't keep this "secret" because they want to, but because of some agreements with 3rd parties.

You have no idea why, you just made that up. Why bother?

if i remember correctly from his amiga future interview, trevor said explicitly that they were constrained from releasing further hardware details due to an NDA undertaken by A-EON during the development process.

But it seems obvious.

(and IIRC, there has been that kind of information from a-eon)

What I heard, and it came from a reliable source, was that the new hardware* contained a component that was not usually available and when it was made public you would understand why it was kept a secret.

*This was prior to the X1000 being announced.

@KimmoK

So is there anything revealing about the X1000 ? - you don't have to tell, but at least tell us if there is something in that magazine which makes your heart beat faster!

nobody tells nothing.......its driving me crazy, and I even ordered the magazine myself. Just want to know if I can expect something revealing.

@Hondo

I think there is not much (any) things that has not been said/known before.
I think the more exact price estimate that was mentioned in this thread was perhaps the biggest "new" thing. It's around the mentioned ¤1500, could be only a little more.

I might have read some things in between the lines here and there, but I do not want to spoil too much. The CPU thing was very tight lipped part.

I've not yet had time to read the whole mag through etc...

I don't understand why they don't have problems to talk to a magazine, but refusing to tell on website anything.

Now that is an interesting question.

Have you bothered to email it to amigaworldfaq @ a-eon.com ?

Be my guest.

I actually created the design for a Competition I am working on, but more on that later.
