OK, looks like Ben and the Friedens have finished. Is Trevor also speaking today?

And can somebody please ask if there's any news on the XMOS demonstration card front?

Kind of disappointing that Ben says not answering the question I asked earlier when the feed was down. Have to wait for later youtube feeds to hear it

@clusteruk

Well, except for the OS 4.1 for Classics, nothing really majorly new was said. I guess those interested in the future of the AOS will have to wait probably until the customer release of the X1000.

@freeaks

Anyway I agree with you I am more interested in stuff for NG. I expected to see news and announcements like:

- Processor of the X1000

- Price of the X1000 (with and without VAT or / and with or without OS4)

- Estimated release date for beta testers and end users

- Progress on OS4 for x1000 and Sam EX

- Progress on USB2 drivers

- Progress on Printer /Scanner / webcam / firewire drivers

- State of development of Multiple cores and 64 bits and if we can expect or discard them at release date.

- State of the new graphic subsystem and OpenGL

- Support for Xena

- Any small or siemple demo? (either of Xena or the X1000)

NONE of this aspects have been covered, and I am not asking for very big deals, most of them is just a matter of being a bit comunicative. The speeches and the event itself are being very dissapointing.

Was there anything interesting said or anounced or shown ?

The links in the first post don't show anything about this. Or have I missed them ?

What's up with all those numbers they are yelling out... Oh, is it lottery tickets, what can you win?

PS: All people should have a _BIG_ note with their respective nick on their shirts, so you know whom you are looking at

@Metalheart

Only OS 4.1 for 68k+ PPC accelerators

Nothing specific on the X1000 features or future OS releases AFAIK.
It looks to me like the X1000 still needs a lot of work until ready for sales.

Ah yes, just to add...

Somebody(I was tuned on the audio feed, but probably one of the brothers) said that USB 2.0 is working but still has some problems. I guess that's a bit of (new)news there

The question is: will Timberwolf (Firefox 4) work on A4000/A3000/A1200 PPC?

You should mind that modern web page rendering requires a lot of RAM and cpu juice. Unless you have at least 128 MB in your maschine it will be rather pointless. Many webpages will be too heavy. However I can confirm that a modern engine can be pretty useable with 400 MHz and 128 MiB RAM, but don't even remotely think about "rich content" stuff (aka Flash or embedded video).
