Make sure the right SLB (second level booter) is installed on the drive. Make sure the partition which contains the Kickstart directory is marked as bootable and has the highest boot priority of all bootable partitions.

Is there not something about the SAM which means the boot drive has to be on a particular SATA port? Perhaps yours is connected to the wrong one? _________________ RobTheNerd.com | InstallerGen | SMBMounter | Atoms-X |

Have you checked Uboot to see if the HD is the default to boot from? _________________ If your nose runs and your feet smell, you're upside down. |

Which file system did you use to format your bootable partition?

Well, if UBoot sees the drive and you have new slb installed and everything with filesystem is all right (BTW which filesystem are you using?) than check the system date. Incorrect date in my case was a reason why OS 4.1 installation was crashing at random moments for example. |

You did not say what type of Amiga you where using (as in computer running AmigaOS),
is it a A1200, A4000, AmigaOne or Sam440 or Pegasus?
To boot AmigaOS4 you need configure Uboot (AmigaOne/Sam440), you can get in to Uboot by pressing ESC, and then type MENU, some where in there you find a menu where you can select first, second boot device.
If you are use SIL card you need to setup some UBOOT vars, we need to know the type model to help you. Last edited by NutsAboutAmiga on 02-Feb-2011 at 11:36 PM.

Yes and also partitions for booting has to have boot flag enabled. And a sane boot priority like NULL.
And having more then one boot partition might get you in to trouble as well. (for example loading kickstart modules from the wrong partition, and get conflict whit system files, because of wrong versions.) Last edited by NutsAboutAmiga on 02-Feb-2011 at 11:44 PM. If Uboot sees the new HD ...
Answer could be simple. Boot from CD go to Media Toolbox,
"The first thing to do is to install the SLB (‘Second Level Booloader’) on your harddrive in order it to be recognized by U-Boot as the boot device. Just click on the button ‘Edit RDB / Reinstall…’."
See have you checked that first fornated partion is bootable, format it again and redo the install. Its more relieving then trying all the other.
"The most important thing here is to check the ‘Bootable’ case in order to point that the system’s files will be placed in this new empty area."
Also, what happened to the old one? Have you just moved it as next one to the new one, with the OS 4.1 on it? _________________ OS 3.x AROS and MOS supporter, fi di good, nothing fi di unprofessionalism. Learn it harder way! SinclairQL and WII U lover :D YT http://www.youtube.com/user/rasvoja |

Dont think it was the wrong uboot version that was not allowing me to install as i have installed AOS 4.1 onto my system before using the same hdd and same Uboot version but what ever the update did it has now fixed my problem i just wish i could have known what had actually caused the error so that if any one else encounters the same problem then i could of help. |
