DVPlayer recent Version to fast

Hi all,

just installed recent DVPlayer from OS4Depot. There are a few questions remaining:

1) Cannot play DVD via "Open DVD", just getting DVD Menu. Guess this is how it is supposed to be as, DVPlayer doesn't support menus.

2) Opening a #?.vob file from the very same DVD gives me two more errors:
a) plays way to fast
b) if movement is just a bit faster inside the movie, it show "line arteffacts" / "horizontal lines" (hope this describes the issue correctly, as I am not a native speaker)

3) which additional codecs do I need ?

Meanwhile, while you guys might be able to help me, I'll read the docs... (sorry didn't do it yet). This is on SAM440ep 677Mhz AmigaOS 4.1 upd. 3

Thanx for your help and if it works correctly I will register.

@gerograph

1) Just hit the Down Arrow to skip to the next video track

2) Replace dvdvcd.plugin (in DvPlayer/dvplugins drawer) by this one

a) I've encounterded this trouble when there is not enough power to read the DVD. The motion slows down and then goes too fast (It happens to me with Iron Man 2 DVD with a Sam440).

b) Yes, there is no deinterlacing option hence this line problem (I can see them wya more on the 440 than on the G4).

3) A52Codec and dca codec. They must be put in Libs:Avcodecs

Sam440 at 667 Mhz is a little bit too slow to cope with DVD. I'd advise you to use Hyperclock to enhance speed.

Possibly not a good idea for naything other than a very short time. The SAM is 667 for areason, overclocking even by software can fry it....

@gerograph

CPU power

@Broadblues

With of course a good silent fan (I run my 440 at 733 Mhz without any trouble but I need to cool it down). I'm now used to the extra speed and couldn't get back to the 667 Mhz now.

Some VOBs play to fast, go to menu "audio" & select one of the AC3 settings.
