Same here using MUI-OWB and getVideo 0.30 (which does work fine for saving YouTube videos).

GetVideo just says:

[getVideo] v0.30
follow redirection...
follow redirection...
try to get the video from 'blip.tv' - please wait...

Sorry can't get expected data.

Any suggestions or options?

Best regards,

Niels

@RobertB

Thanks for posting these, the remote access video was of particular interest, will have to try that out.

Unfortunately I had the same problem here as others, getVideo didn't like blip.tv so had to resort to other computer to watch.

People who want to view or download from blip.tv, here's a userscript for OWB MorphOS:
http://fabportnawak.free.fr/owb/scripts/Blip.js . Copy it to scripts/ directory and add it from Scripts manager.

This will replace the Flash element with a HTML5 video element and add a direct download link. To be noted the content on blip.tv is various (often HD, too) and not always in plain mpeg4/h264 format (or other officially supported formats/codecs by HTML5), so the mediaplayer might not always be able to start playback (would be easy to play everything by linking with a complete ffmpeg, but i'm not sure it's really a good idea).

Anyway, the download link will always work. :)

It should also work (except the video element) with the older OWB 1.9 (MUI) version available for OS4, but i didn't check.

@Fab

I checked last year's file links for which Robert also used blip.tv.

Example page from last year, which looks quite different:
http://web.archive.org/web/20101105171316/http://www.blip.tv/file/4320600

Seems there was file download option (direct link) for .mp4.

Is this something the uploader can control (giving a direct link)?

Yes, Blip.tv used to have a direct download option but not anymore. Now it suggests that you download through iTunes.

If you own a PC, you can use something like BlipTV Video Downloader or similar, or if you own a Mac, you can use something like iFunia Video Downloader Pro or similar in order to get the video.

Amigaworld.net member Ryu has offered to host my videos at his site. I might just have to take him up on the offer.

Are there any videos of Jens Schönfeld? I saw his talk on the live feed last year and found it very interesting.

@RobertB

So, the skype with Jason McMullan (AROS) did not go through the same system and therefore there is no A/V for download?
