Strange. Bookmarks and fast links work OK for me. Also It appears to load faster that you indicated?

TrevorD

Update information:-

I exported all my bookmarks as an html filef from Firefox on my PC (I know I'm sorry ) and copied them to the the Timberwolf/CurrentUserProfile/Mozilla directory in Timberwolf. I then imported the bookmarks into Timberwolf.

Appears to work OK.

@mr2

First post at Amigaworld using Timberwolf 4.0.1 Beta.

It uses up most of my RAM, but appears to be usable so far.

Not sure how to paste text. Cut from NotePad does not seem to work with Paste menu item in Timberwolf.

Might be worth trying XMarks from your mac, that would allow you to transfer your bookmarks at least. Assuming that 'extensions' (or 'add-ons' in previous versions) is enabled.

Add-ons work, however XMarks doesn't sync anything - just displays an error. It logs in OK, so the add-on is working, but must be something missing (maybe the same thing that is stopping bookmarks from being created manually)

Very old 64 4000+ too but a new gfx NVidia which is more powerful than the machine. It's just holding it.. Only Amiga does not make it possible anymore?

I was missing the fontconfig drawer completely from my setup, no idea why. Copied over from OS4.1 CD and them was able to follow readme instructions for erasing/updating.

Timberwolf works 'well' here on Sam-440ep-flex. GUI and prefs/menus seem usable now unlike the alpha version and no crashes so far.

Scrolling slow compared to MUI-OWB, as others have pointed out, but sure this will improve with future versions.

HTML5 video plays here, although too slow to be usable yet. Novel to see all the same.

@djrikki

for the money you spend for X1000, don't you have AmigaOS 4 movie editor?
you are forced to use Mac or PC....

Another aspect to think about..

Actually, the bookmark saving should work. I ran into the same problem last week and fixed it, and it worked for me here.

You might want to try to delete all profile data. If you had tried 3.5 before, and used the same profile, then the places database might not have been created properly.

So, is it crashing on exit like some people claim?

The crash on exit is due to an elf.library bug that exists in AmigaOS 4.1 prior to Update 4. Update 4 fixed that bug.

I had very little crashes in general (there are a few of course, it's a beta version). If there are any crashes on exit, I'd like to hear about them.

@EntilZha

Sadly even using the latest Update 4 i got (a couple of time) a crash on exit so maybe problem are not 100% fixed yet .. (?)

I didn't save the crashlog but i will do next time if that happen again, even better i would love to post it somewhere (along with the other problems) but we need an official bugtrackers repository first!

Plz consider bugs.os4depot
