@all

Guys, it's coming!

Version 0.1 of "HollyMan - Dr Who Edition" is now online at the following address:

Dr Who download

Unfortunatly, due to a problem during compilation, at the moment I can only publish the source code archive.

Therefore, those of you who don't have Hollywood installed will have to wait a little bit more.

Sorry for the inconvenience. The problem has been brought to Andreas attention already.

Regards
g0blin

@Toaks

Wow, thanks for the link.
I think it would be nice to play the coop-mode with my son.
The trailer says "March 2012" ... I wonder how I missed it. Gotta search on PSN tonight!

PS: Did you have a chance to try my mod out?

@Toaks

Thanks mate.

There's more to come, as soon as I can modify a few sprites to get more animation frames.
As said, I'd like to change opponent (maybe even the Doctor) at every stage.

By the way ... I took a look at your CV today on amigaguru. Quite interesting, indeed. So I have about a million of questions to ask. I'll send you an e-mail soon.

Cheers

My Kindle just started going nuts.

It seems some Doctor Who eBooks I ordered a while back just got delivered. They're "reprints" of the old Target book line that reproduced the original TV episodes. I started collecting them as a kid. Back then it was the only way to discover the old stories as they were not repeated and video players hadn't been invented.

I just got these ones:

The Tenth Planet - The return to the Solar System of Earth's twin planet Mondas heralds the first appearance of the Cybermen, the death of the first Doctor and an iconic regeneration.

The Ark in Space - The last survivors of a ravaged Earth lie in suspended animation on an orbiting space station unaware that a breed of giant wasp has infiltrated the station and wishes to use their bodies to incubate their young. The 4th Doctor, Harry and Sarah have other ideas.

The Loch Ness Monster - One for Franko. Based on the story "Terror of the Zygons", something is destroying oil rigs off the coast of Scotland and there are strange goings on around a certain loch. Has evidence of Nessie finally been found? The Brigadier isn't convinced and summons the 4th Doctor, Harry and Sarah back to Earth to solve the mystery.

The Ice Warriors - The 2nd Doctor, Jamie and Victoria arrive at a research base in the near future where a strange body is unearthed from the ice. Rather than a discovering a dead prehistoric man, the base finds itself under threat from thawed out Martians.

The Three Doctors - A 10th anniversary special featuring the first 3 Doctors, Jo and UNIT. Gallifrey is under threat from a black hole and it will take all of the Doctor's incarnations to save them from the revenge of an ancient Time Lord who was thought to be long dead.

Day of the Daleks - The Earth is on the brink of nuclear war and the one diplomat who can prevent it is attacked by a ghost. UNIT sends the Doctor and Jo to investigate and they discover that "ghosts" don't need to come from the past.

The previous batch consisted of:

The Daleks - Based on the first Doctor's initial meeting with his famous foes. The Doctor, Ian, Barbara and Susan land in a petrified forest and decide to explore a deserted city.

The Cybermen - Based on the 2nd Doctor story "The Moonbase". Thought to be destroyed along with Mondas, the Cybermen make an unexpected return and intend to take over the Earth using a weather control device based on the Moon. However, the Doctor, Jamie and Victoria happen to arrive at the same time.

The Crusades - A historical adventure where the first Doctor, Ian, Barbara and Susan encounter Richard the Third on a holy crusade.

The Cave Monsters - Based on the story "The Silurians". The 3rd Doctor and Liz Shaw are sent by UNIT to investigate an outbreak of "madness" at an underground nuclear research center and discover a race of reptiles older than man.

The Auton Invasion - Based on the story "The Spearhead from Space". The newly regenerated 3rd Doctor is exiled to Earth by the Time Lords and lands in the middle of a shower of unusual meteorites. Liz Shaw and UNIT can't seem to locate any of them and while the Brigadier recognizes a familiar blue box, he is deeply suspicious of a stranger who claims to be an old friend.

The Abominable Snowmen - The 2nd Doctor, Jamie and Victoria land in Tibet where the local monks have been driven away from their monastery by aggressive bear-like monsters. Sometimes aided, sometime hindered by a British scientist, The Doctor attempts to discover what has made the previously elusive Yeti suddenly become so violent.

Time to relive some classic stores...

Oh, and Shada, the aborted Douglas Adams story (Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy) has also been released:

@Toaks

I addressed him a while ago. He was busy with other stuff. I'll get back to him asap.

In the meantime you could take a look at my latest game prototype. I developed this little demo to learn how to use doublebuffering under Hollywood. At the same time I put down the basis of a little parallax scrolling engine, even if the latest scroller that Andreas put inside "infinity" is another thing .....
