Thank you, Number6, for keeping us all updated on this continually unravelling development. It is most appreciated.

Now, will it be waffles, pancakes or popcorn -- anyone?

@Yo

Let's take a quick look at the universal cut and paste from the press releases.

On the Korea "deal":
Quote:
Amiga Games plans to have a substantial number of its titles available through SK Planet T Store for the 2013 holiday season.

On the Barnes and Nobles "deal":
Quote:
The distribution arrangement will bring AGI's classic games library to Nook HD and HD+ tablets through the Nook Apps store for the winter holiday season.

On the Google Play "deal":
Quote:
AGI plans to release its titles to Google Play for the 2013 winter holiday season.

On the Samsung Apps "deal":
Quote:
announced international distribution

No date given.
On the Kindle/Amazon "deal":
Quote:
AGI plans to release its titles for Kindle devices in time for the 2013 holiday season.

I see a pattern...
So this surely fits with the cautionary warnings about "forward looking statements", since I see NO present value to WRIT here.

Seems like smoke and mirrors, to me. But then I'm an old cynic, you know.

Amiga Inc. is still building on the confusion between Commodore Amiga and their "company".

Quote:
Amiga began as a pioneer in computing hardware. We were first to market with user experience amenities such as full-color display, anti-flickering, and stereo sound...

Source

Plenty of propaganda here about Amiga 1000, CD32, Amiga 3000, etc. as if Amiga Inc. had some hand in this history.

Source

I think it only fair to mention to Writers' Group Film Corp. what they are dealing with. Perhaps reading about fraud in the court docs will help them:

http://sites.google.com/site/amigadocuments/

Or worse yet...perhaps they already know whom they are dealing with.

I'll readily admit this is not my field of expertise. I've posted what links I can find so those with more knowledge can look them over. But...

http://www.frnetworks.com/page/company-press-releases

^^It's that link that I don't fully understand. It's stuck on the original deal with blackberry, which is going down the tubes.
None of the other "agreements" appear, which would be quite a list by now, if you look at what I've posted.
Obviously it would have meant more PR for their group if these "agreements" were posted on their site.

I wonder if I'm wrong in thinking something is keeping these "agreements" from being a reality and adopted by WRIT?

Don't know how useful this is but when BlackBerry were rolling out OS10 they were looking at developers to populate the BlackBerry World store with apps. The games that Amiga Inc had "produced" were on the BlackBerry PlayBook and I recall BlackBerry were offering money on each app ported to the new QNX system. So I don't think there was an agreement it may have just been a case of Amiga had a few games ready to port over. Games they would have probably got money for.

@CritAnime

Today is the big day for pushing the stock obviously, based on this "announcement".
Millions of shares are trading and the price has been jumping wildly up and down. Currently about double what it was at open.

The big question (considering all these announcements are "forward looking statement") is...

Does Amiga Games Inc. even have the licenses to do any of this?
They were locked to blackberry at the time...

I don't know if they were "locked" as much as that was the platform they developed for and had little to no resources to start the process for other platforms.

Well, all the talk was about a stripped down emulator being used.
As I understand it, they can not use such a thing for these other ventures.

But I'd be happy to entertain any "facts" on this.

Given some of the games listed - notably Alien Breed - I would hazard a guess that they probably do not. Team 17 are still very actively working on and distributing updates to their older IPs which included the Alien Breed series.

I doubt they would licence that off to AGI for any reason. The original Amiga titles were allowed to be downloaded via Dream17 for non-commercial use only.

I have to admit I have not looked into this in any great detail though and I may be wrong.

Mr. Roberts' initial focus is on licensing additional gaming content for AGI

Perhaps that answers the question. It might mean they have few or none of the licenses they require in relation to Amiga.
