That's definitely the directory problem salass00 mentioned.

Understood.

Voodoo-x extracts the entire archive without having to click "ok" btw.
The error messages there in seperate window read "name of file exists as a directory".

@salass00

That link is where I went to before. It's 10 years old, and doesn't look like anything Chris Young used to modify and make XAD_lha that's on OS4Depot. It looks like he used code from "The Unarchiver".

@Chris_Y

Where is this official 1.14? I see a LhA.c 1.13 (or is it 1.15? It says both) at that googlecode link.

Also where is the source for xadmaster v13? The sourceforge CVS repo only has v12.1a

@number6

I experienced the same thing with you. There's no problem with the files when they are unarchived but it gives that error message on each directory.

Dopus 5.90 also uses xad so it also has the same problem with those files. When you open one of those archives in a lister using Dopus 5.90, you can see an empty file without a name in each drawer.

@Ancalimon

Try Voodoo-x for fun then.

It shows every file by name, correct size, dates, etc.

You're saying it does show the files by name, size, date but just adds the extra file with size "0", right?

I assure you that the official repo is exactly where I got the original code from.

The UnArchiver one is based on an older version, although AFAIK it has the same fixes (and possibly more), but might not be buildable without some other modifed files (don't know about that; haven't tried)

It's definitely v13, but it never had an official release, so the readme doesn't say so.

@Chris_Y

Well, that answered every question of mine :) Thanks. I hadn't even thought about looking in the "portable" directory. I was in amiga/source/

I think I used lha to unarchive boingbag1 and 2 because I knew about OS3.9's problem.

Maybe it's related with something that's been installed with boingbag3+4 or maybe some patch I'm using...

It seems you suspect issues from OS version 3.9, and possibly additional software affecting the unarchiving process of 'boingbag1', 'boingbag2', and potentially even 'boingbag3+' with a recent update or patch in play. Further investigation into error logs during extraction might help pinpoint the issue.

The original XAD_lha file on OS4Depot was modified using code from "The Unarchiver." Chris Young used this to create a version of lhA that is available at the Google Code link, which appears as LhA.c with versions listed as both 1.13 and 1.15. The sourceforge CVS repository for XADMaster only has v12.1a; there's no official release tagged as version 1.14 available in the provided link or mentioned elsewhere here.
