@Marko,
"FinalUpdate" does NOT require a previous OS4.1 purchase.

Still, I have to agree.. it's a very reasonable price even for an upgrade, a LOT has been added since the original 4.1 release.

And who knows, maybe there will be a cool new extra or two in the "Contribs" folder as well..??

[edit] changes.. the above has been edited to be correct. Sorry about that.

@all

AmiWest show has closed for today, and will continue tomorrow.

I have written a blog post covering the Saturday activities at AmiWest with plenty of photos!

Link is here:

Hope you enjoy it! Banquet is to follow later tonight!

@Epsilon

Thanks for the blogupdate :) Always a treat.

Too bad he didnt get Voxelbird to work, as its one of the better games out there. Even kids that have no past Amiga expirience love that game.

Looks like you figured out what the problem was as I can see she's up and running!

Thanks for all the pics and updates Epsilon!

Sorry for my mistake, I have corrected my earlier post.

No probs

I too, think it is reasonable price, I know 1 or 2 new "big" features for sure at least, and bugfixes on top of that. Plus, you get a new 100% clean & top-notch install for sure too

@Amiga4000

Thanks. The fellow Amigans did an excellent job. Almost everyone contributed a little of his own experience. Especial thanks to Michael (SACC) for his hard work and patience.
The HDD had to be replaced by a new one, so now I have a new, fresh installation.

@WeiXing3D

Glad all is well Oscar! IMO, I've never been fond of 1TB hard drives as they seem top be fairly unreliable in my experience. Hope you replaced the old one with a Western Digital
BTW, what ended up being the reason you couldn't boot from the CD drive?

Right now I'm watching the banquet with Andy Broad - wish I could jam with that guy! Did you stay for the banquet? Maybe I can see you in the audience...

Anyways, glad your fixed up...... wish I could be there! Maybe next year....
Did you get a chance to talk to Trevor or Matt?

Does anyone know the name/manufacturer of the white tower case that X5000 is using? It looks super cool (at least to me :) )

Then good that I purchased my copy.

Now only support for Z3 RAM and I will be fully satisfied.

@lylehaze
Are you really, really shure that a previous OS4.1 update is need? This news from you makes the round and if it is not right it would be not a good thing. So please ask again if possible ;)

Thanks,
Thomas

@imagodespira

Would be a wise mode to make a lot new users/developers via WinUAE if the 30EUR only price tag was the only thing that was needed IMO.
For my own usage I will be using it to test my cross compiling of my software.
I wont be using it for pure development but for betatest and double check the binaries.
And for other people that is curious about the OS but don't want to plunge out a lot for just testing it since there is no trial version available.

If it means that I need to both buy the orginal (allready expensive) CDs and the new Final CD doesn't make it very tempting really.
I though the plan of having it available for 30EUR was splendid, I really hope that this is the only expense that's needed. Then I wouldn't hesitate a single second to buy it.

I think prices are without AmigaOS license (so add 120 EUR to it)

Exactly. 150 EUR for OS is too much.

@pavlor

i think they wil made a final version retail 120€ and the ugrade for 30€ for who have the old 4.1 retail.
if you consider windows retail prize 270€ and you have to pay the same for a new version is not too much.
the error was call the new future version 4.2 and not 5 because in 4.2 everything will change in kernel.

there are people who have 4.1 free with motherboard and have it for 4 years
and some other buy 4 years ago the 4.1 retail...
30€ for guys who working for a dream is not too much after 4 years
