What Graphics cards work with Sam460CR and AmigaOS 4.1 FE out of the box ?

What I am trying to find out is what version of the RadeonHD driver will come on the AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition CD for the Sam460 CR. if it is lower than version 0.54 then only Radeon HD models up to HD 4000 will work out of the box and allow you to boot . So you would need an older HD4000 series or earlier card to install the driver that supports the RadeonHD 5000 series and up.

I am to get a free Sam460 board from Acube to replace one that got destroyed.
This issue with the Radeon HD would not affect me as as I should have a working Installation with the version 0.55 driver on my hard drive plus have a tested work around method to install a new version of the driver using an OS4.1 install CD, a USB thumbdrive ,Windows and AROS .
But it could affect most other users.

We are already at 1.0...you can get that version for months now.

iirc the driver version on Final will be 1.2

The whole point of the Final is so that users do not need to install the six updates, add a second gfx card because the gfx driver doesn't work or worst, create theit own boot disc (also because the gfx driver has become incompatible)

The driver was not free but a separate purchase for Sam460ex users.
If it is not on the OS CD then the problem outlined above will exist for someone buying
a new Sam 460 CR. with the Sam460ex they have the onboard sm502 to boot and then add the separate RadeonHD driver,

Hmm, yes, you could be right...iirc it was said in the speeches that the gfx driver will be part of the Radiance package, not sure if it will also be part of the Final cd...

Right, The Final CD will have v1.2, while you can buy v2.4 with the Radiance package (it will have much more features, like enabled DMA used for viedo playback and such)

2. And if yes, and there will be included with FE, costing 30 Euro in all, who is paying for the drivers?

(1) Yes 5xxx,6xxx,7xxx (and possibly more )
(2) we still need to wait for some official source (Acube,Aeon or Hyperion)

Must buy again this radiance pack?
Or when not, is radiance pack cheaper for this users..?
I dont have so much money to pay always double!

The whole situation seems murky from the outside.
A-eon seem to have the potential to choke both Hyperion and Acube with
the RadeonHD driver.

Hello

The RadeonHD 1.2 is a free upgrade for customers who have bought v1 from us.

It is not included in the Final Edition. We recently commissioned a new Lite Edition of the RadeonHD driver.

We are working with ACube/Hyperion currently to enable a Lite Edition of the RadeonHD for emergency boot purposes of the AmigaOS CD.

Couple of questions:

1. I presume Sam460CR will come bundled with Amiga OS4.1 FE with the "light" Radeon Drivers or perhaps given as an option for an extra 30 Euro?
